Thinking about Congress

Does anyone know if these upcoming primaries (NH, Iowa, Super Tuesday, etc.) are also primaries for US Senators and Representatives?

I wouldn't want to distract anyone from focusing on the Presidential campaign (that's why I'm not posting this in the Grassroots forum), but I started thinking about Congress today. It would be great if some defenders of liberty made it into Congress in '08.

If RP wins the primary and his message of liberty spreads like wildfire (which I think it will), then maybe his coattails could get us some liberty-minded people in Congress. That would sure make his Presidency run a lot smoother, don't you think?

Even if he doesn't win in the primary, a strong force for liberty in congress could really hold our next President's feet to the fire, eh? Isn't congress where all the power is anyway? Could we get enough people in there to get RP as Speaker of the House?

Either way it seems like we need some good freedom fighters on the primary ballots. Probably the Republican ballots, too, since we're talking everyone into registering Republican. Is it too late?

What do you think?

All of the early states are only having presidential primaries; most are having their normal primaries several months later.
