The YouTube Interview: Ron Paul

Sweet! A question I posted got asked:

Me: "Would you end the Federal war on drugs?"

Ron Paul:"Yes"

Ron Paul FTW!

I can't believe they asked the Good vs. Awesome question. Hysterical. Did you see his face for the question?

We should ask him who he supports ninjas vs pirates next!

That was great. Ron Paul really shines when being asked the tough questions also. I would love to see a video similar to this but much longer and on many more issues.

For the questions that weren't answered you can watch the google interview at justin.tv/ronpaul/7733
He answered many of the questions asked there.

Great interview.....and the answers were like they always are...truthful breaths of fresh air.

I was rather intrigued that Ron Paul wants to end the War on Drugs... How should the U.S. drug problem be dealt with?

LOL how effective has the "War on Drugs" been? How effective was prohibition? It simply creates lucrative black markets and corruption. People constantly fall for the fallacious suggestion that just cause something is illegal people won't do it.

*reads materials but is still confused*

So, doing nothing about the illegal drug problem is better than doing something?

The think about the Drug War, it's a government solution to a social problem. Ron Paul advocates communites and familes solving social ills, not sending little Johnny to prison for 5 years because he had a bag of marijuana in his pocket.

You make them legal. The black market for them will crumble due to higher legal availability and lower prices. Then you have the states regulate them, like they do alcohol. Set a legal age etc. (This is a simplified explanation because i dont know the specifics and im not speaking for Ron Paul here these are MY opinions.)

This would end outright tons of victim less crimes and save tons of taxpayer dollars.

You gotta understand that we have been taught that illegal drugs are "bad", but alcohol is "good". How are they different? Alcohol is more addictive than Marijuana, and just as addictive as the harder drugs. It leads to health problems and social problems as well.

Sure some people will continue to abuse these substances and not use them responsibly, but people still abuse alcohol as well, but it is legal to. So do you think we should reinstate prohibition due to all the problems caused by alcohol?

It boils down to personal responsibility, i dont need the government telling me what i can and cant put into my body, and i damn sure dont need them taking my money to fight some FAKE war on drugs while they themselves profit off them.

I have been following Dr Paul for several months and I am not sure I fully understand one thing about his idea for ending the income tax.

The 1st question on the video asked about funding the federal gov't and I think what the guy was asking is where will the money come from? He answered with the same response I have heard him use before about not needing the income tax because we didn't need it before 1913. What I don't understand is where will the money come from? They obviously need money to run even a small government, so where does it come from?

If RP says we don't need it I tend to believe him, but I would like this clarified so that I can more effectively speak to people about Dr Paul's positions.

Can someone help me out with this? Thanks.
