We really need these guys, and this is the best time to get them since they seem totally left out of the game this time around. I think we could make some headway with them and they are already registered to vote. How are we doing with this crowd and what are some large organizations we could convince to support Ron Paul?

The problem I see is: A lot of the "Christian Right" don't believe in federalism. They are more into theocracy. Not all, but a lot.

At the minimum they would like to see abortion ( and for many, homosexuality) ruled at the federal level.

To me it is like almost any interest group that certain candidates pander to and others don't.

I don't think a lot of them will go for Paul because he wouldn't support a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage. Some may overlook that, however, because at least he would overturn Roe v. Wade.

how about.......

Maybe we could write to the 700 club to interview Ron Paul like we are doing with the View, Leno, Letterman, etc. Their website says they are shown in 200 countries in 70 languages, with a potential viewership of 1.5 billion people.

The Christian Coalition is a big one too.

Home School Legal Defense Association

HSLDA www.hslda.org

They have a lot of clout with the Christian homeschool community.

There's always the National Right to Life, which even has a presidential candidate comparison flyer (to print out freely).

Ron passes all their tests.

Pat Buchanan does seem to like him. If we can just make some inroads with the Christian right than that would be a good thing. It is too bad so many of them support this war, i cant figure out how they don’t see the hypocrisy in a stance like that...but hopefully some are starting to wake up.
I would like a flyer centered on Ron Paul’s faith. I go to an ELCA Lutheran church, not quite the Christian right, but I think they would love Ron Paul’s message...I mean who wouldn’t.

Well, it all has to do with Ezekiel 38 and 39. They're worried about a prophesy that says Iran will join with Russia and China to attack Israel.

They want this war to go on for just that reason. It's the Armageddon thing...

Yea they seem to miss the whole blessed are the peacemakers thing don't they? At least some of them do, but i know many Christians who are for Ron Paul so I think he has a real shot at getting some of them.

Also keep in mind most Christians are not a part of the Christian Right and I think the clout is exaggerated.

There are millions of other Christians ( and many religions) and churches who could probably support RP and appreciate his appropriate view and use of faith.

The President can't overturn decisions made by the Supreme Court. All he can do is appoint justices when a vacancy occurs on the Court.

I tried that and I got bitched out by the head pastor of the church for "littering."

Sounds like that pastor needs to bitch out his congregation for littering.

When I did this at my church, there was not one single piece of paper on the ground an hour later.

BTW, always go back an hour later to clean up, if anyone decides to do this.

I'm a christian, the thing that got me supporting Ron Paul was the similarities to Ronald Reagan. If you bring up Reagan, and point out his views and contrast those with the prevailing neocon views of today, you may sway some. Others will be tough nuts to crack. They don't think too logically sometimes, but they can be swayed. Deep down most christians do understand liberty and what it means. You just have to refresh their memories! Ron Paul should appeal to most christians who can think logically and who have an understanding of the constitution.

Pat endorsed Paul for his run in 88 but he has beeen ignoring hi thsu far....he has given generous covergae to guiliani - which makes little sense but ihave serious doubt if Pat really belives what he precahes b/c his actions often dont refeletc it. But yes email them and hold them accountable to balanced reporting......but be polite.

They will like Rv wade overturned but then theyll get mad at Paul for not replcing it with fed legislation.
