An Open Letter to the Ron Paul Campaign and his Supporters

The United States of America urgently and desperately needs Ron Paul as President. Due to this obvious fact, the entire Ron Paul for President campaign (the official campaign and grassroots organizers) need to re-affirm that nothing short of a total VICTORY in Tampa -- IN WHICH THE NOMINATION IS SUCCESSFULLY OBTAINED -- is our singular desire, focus, and goal.

In fact, making sure Ron Paul is the Republican nominee for President is all that matters in this election cycle, period. If other good things are obtained in the process of accomplishing this goal, that is fine. But we must realize nothing short of having a true SMALL GOVERNMENT and PRO-LIBERTY candidate, as President of the United States, will have any significant impact towards restoring our nation.

If we are to move forward towards victory, the entire Ron Paul nation must agree to and reassert five basic truths loudly and boldly, to everyone who has ears to hear or eyes to read.

First, we will do whatever it takes to ensure that Ron Paul obtains the nomination. Regardless the path we must follow to accomplish this goal, we will pressure forward, as long as it is non-violent, peaceful, and lawful. If the misguided followers of other candidates are offended by our successes they can complain all they want. If the enemies of liberty make false accusations against us they can keep spreading lies. If the establishment big-wigs feel threatened by our progress they can try to stop us. But we will not slow down, will never back down, and will not stop moving forward. This is a revolution that cannot be stopped, and we will not tread lightly to avoid the wrath of the establishment. Although this is a peaceful, lawful, and non-violent revolution, it is still a revolution. When revolutions take place they are rarely serene and free of controversy. If this one gets a little noisy (but respectful) at times, so be it. The most important battles in history were not always quiet, and this one will be no different.

Secondly, we recognize that for Ron Paul or Rand Paul to accept a slot as vice president is totally unacceptable, and would be against the principles this campaign has fought for all this time. The so called Republican named Romney is really a big government, crony capitalist who has no understanding of the concepts we hold dear. By his very words we know he has no desire to significantly limit the role of government, reduce spending, promote peace, and restore our freedoms. Just like Obama, he would expand the intrusion of government into our lives, while continuing to promote military interventionism abroad. Unlike Ron Paul, a "Champion of Liberty", Romney is a hand of tyranny that seeks to exert more influence over us all. No true liberty candidate could campaign with such an individual, and the supporters of Ron Paul will not even consider the possibility.

Third, we recognize that changing the platform of the Republican party is totally futile. The establishment Republicans will ignore any changes to the platform that are made. They already ignore many aspects of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, which are founding documents of this nation. Why should we think that they would respect changes to the party platform? Such changes cannot be seen as one of our goals, because we do not have time to focus on them. All of our effort must be to make sure Ron Paul wins the nomination, because only a true small government candidate as President of the United States will make a difference. With the ability to veto legislation, undo unconstitutional executive orders, pardon non-violent individuals guilty of victimless crimes, bring our troops home, and to use the pulpit of the presidency, Ron Paul would make a difference: a big difference.

Fourth, we will redouble our efforts to make sure our fellow Ron Paul supporters are supported in every way that is needed. This includes helping them obtain legal council, getting them parliamentarians, training in Roberts Rules, providing all the preparation they need to win caucuses, and getting them financial support. Just because the official campaign is not going to be active in certain states, does not mean WE WILL NOT TAKE CARE OF THE BUSINESS OF GETTING THE JOB DONE.

Fifth, the campaign is not ending anywhere. We are the campaign, and we are moving forward with or without the help, approval, or blessing of the official HQ or Jesse Benton. From this point on, we are redoubling our efforts to be the most knowledgeable, effective, prepared, and ORGANIZED supporters of any Presidential candidate in the history of this nation. With or without the "official" campaign's involvement, we are going to push in every possible way that is legal and lawful to win every delegate possible, in EVERY state. Then when Tampa comes around, we will have the knowledge and experience needed to WIN.

That's right, WIN!

-- Not to back down to the establishment and graciously give up to avoid offending other Republicans...

-- Not to refrain from using our KNOWLEDGE OF THE RULES to turn the convention around in our favor...

-- Not to "make a deal" with Romney for a VP slot, platform changes, speaking time, etc....

We are going to WIN and obtain a VICTORY in Tampa. We realize nothing else is acceptable, and are going to find a way to MAKE THIS HAPPEN. It will take work and a renewed focus, but we can start immediately!

If the "official" campaign gets in our way, well, we are still moving forward too.

Lets make this campaign a legendary victory in the textbooks of the future.

im always in it to win it, most of RPF should know this by now :)

still calling, waiting for reinforcements to arrive.

A few more thoughts...

1) We have forty delegates at stake in one state. Are we doing everything we can to make sure they are recognized? Do we need to start a fundraising effort to make sure they have legal council?

2) I hate the idea of Ron Paul or Rand Paul running as VP with Romney. It would be like Jesus (Ron Paul) or an ordinary Joe (Rand Paul) running for office with Obama. That's right, if someone is OK with Ron Paul running as VP with Romney they better be OK if they went democratic. Romney is NO BETTER than Obama.

If you like this idea of starting a campaign for TOTAL VICTORY in Tampa please keep this thread bumped up!

Are we going to make this happen?

That's what I want to know?

Is the Grassroots going to pull a "Would of, Could of, Should of?

Are we going to figure out a way to get organized on this forum? We need MODS to help with this. (Like a Private thread) Haters and non-constructives restricted. Useless posts deleted so as not to clutter.

Central fundraising for GRASSROOTS ONLY?

Can we move on this and agree that. WE ARE NOW THE CAMPAIGN?

Well, to begin to get organized we must agree with the declaration in the first post. Specifically....

-- We are in this to win not matter what.
-- We are not going to accept "deals" being made with the GOP.
-- We will not support a vice presidency slot, because the idea is totally unprincipled.
-- We recognize platform changes are meaningless because they will not be abided by.
-- We will not support Romney NOT MATTER WHAT. He will never have our vote. He is a big government monster
-- We are taking over this campaign ourselves to WIN THE NOMINATION.

Phone from home! If everyone here made just 1 call a day the impact would be huge!

I like the idea of a Central Grassroots Campaign. I'm sure it would be much more effective than anything the official campaign is doing. I say we just ignore them and do things our own way.

I agree that we are now the campaign.

I think we need to agree that the new "campaign" agrees with what was stated in the first post.

The idea of centralized fundraising is great, but we also need to set up a structure to find out the most effective ways to spend the money. For example, getting legal help, training, and parliamentarians where they are needed.

Perhaps we could have a Grassroots "Victory in Tampa: No One But Paul" money bomb?

So does anyone who agrees with the content of the first post want to step up and use this thread to try and start organizing?

To be honest, I'm too angry right now to think straight. The official campaign is posting stuff that is demoralizing. I understand to an extent what they are doing, but they are destroying the momentum that has been built. It's time we yank the campaign from them and take over.

We need the help of PRO Ron Paul MODS to help organize a committee.

To form a committee, we can have interested parties send a personal request to a panel of MODS. In this request, the interested parties will give a brief message of why they should be considered also along with types of experience they have, i.e. Web page creation, legal, fundraising, etc.

These names will be screened by the panel of mods for consideration and then along with a brief statement of that person's qualifications will be posted in a poll. All Forum members will vote on the poll who they want to be on the committee. We can have separate polls for each committee position.

Any MODS willing to get on board?

We need a MOD that agrees with the first post of this thread though.

We do not need a MOD that thinks Ron Paul or Rand Paul should make deals with the GOP, or not push for victory at all cost.

Also do we organize this like a SuperPac? Go through all the legal protocol to form a SuperPac. That's if we agree that we as Grassroots officially break clean from the campaign and we do it OUR way.

Why can't we just organize lots and lots of chip in type fundraisers? For example, if a lawyer is needed for a state we have a fundraiser for that. If an expert in Roberts Rules is needed in a state we have a chip in for that. I really don't think we need to go a route that involves legal paperwork. That would delay everything and make it all more complicated. We can be the campaign, raise money, and make this happen without all that.

That's why we need committees. Each committee has responsibilities. This has to be totally organized and CAN NOT be set up like a hodge podge mess. Ideas and suggestions will be forwarded to committee members for consideration.
