A little info on these signs:

They're made to look homemade, but they're not. Before the seats began filling up that day, they had pages (McCain Youth -- selected for their looks and dressed in little uniforms) spread out and occupy the seats.

The pages carried stacks of those "homemade" signs with them, and distributed them to everyone else. As people came to take their seats, the pages would get up and move, but they would also leave the signs behind.

We also saw one of the convention goons direct a page to come sit in front of us and hold up a sign so no cameras would pick up our Ron Paul buttons or see our obvious displeasure at the proceedings.

Is the Lincoln-Douglas picture real?

On BTM they interviewed an RNC Page, as the Pages were put up at the same Hotel. he was actually a Ron Paul supporter, interested in getting his foot in the door. he was a senior in high school. Seemed like a nice enough kid and reasonable to boot.

Its kinda off topic, but I just dont think it was fair to paint Pages as the Hitler Youth Brigade.

Looks more like theatre than a convention.

I saw that during Palin's speech - the signs were all painted using the same shades of paint.

Obama rallies do the same thing.
