Temporary Tattoos - help us in Iowa!

Here's a great way for someone to help us here in Iowa! Iowa RP supporters will be working the Iowa GOP booth at the Iowa State Fair, which runs August 9-19. Ron Paul is tentatively scheduled to attend! The fair is a chance to hand out brochures, etc. but something else that would be good for us to have is Ron Paul temporary tattoos. You know, the little ones you put on with a damp washcloth.

At 'the fair' I've seen kids line up for these things with their parents. I've seen kids with dozens of them all over their arms, legs, and face. It takes 10-20 seconds to put these on the kids (or adults!) and we could visit with the parents about Ron Paul. This is another great way to spread the word!

They're usually about 1.5 by 1.5 inches. Maybe we could use the graphic from the buttons they sell at the RP website? Maybe we could order them 1 inch tall by 2 inches wide and use some other graphic?

I'm traveling all day today. Can some people here step up and investigate this for us? Where can we order these, what's the cost, how long to get, etc. How do we get a high-quality graphic to upload to the producer? Can we get this from the campaign? I want the finished product to look really nice. Which graphic should we use?

This is a great way for someone to help out the effort on the ground here in Iowa. I'm really hoping someone here will please take this ball and really run with it. I'm traveling all day today but will check back in tonight.

Next...

I looked at 5-10 different sites and this one looks like it's the best (decent quality, cheap, pretty quick production and delivery).

TATTOO MANUFACTURING INC.

Pricing
1.5 x 1.5 (10,000 for $194) - 1.5 x 2.5 (10,000 for $311)

That's a lot of tattoos. They're on the smaller side, but the price is remarkable. A few simple phrases would probably be best (Ron Paul, President, 2008, Vote Paul, Freedom, Liberty, Constitution, America...) Anyone want to sample a few designs? Contact the campaign about funding? Start collecting funds from MeetUps?

That's the one I was just looking at also. In fact there is a Custom Temp Tat company in Ames, Iowa that has just gone on a road trip (called him on his cell) that can't acomodate us because of the trip, but he refferred me to Tattoo Manufacturing also.

Not sure how many are needed but here are other prices for the different sizes and different bulk prices:

From my conversation with the Ames, Iowa tat guy, the design needs to be asap (by Monday) to get this fullfilled. I suggest you creative people to start submitting some designs :D

Here's the specs to work to:

Neat, but...

I like the do-it-yourself idea. One of the only drawbacks is the ink. Tattoo paper sounds very cool except for the fact that it basically just deposits standard industrial injket or laser printer ink on your skin. The companies that mass produce temporary tattoos use inks that are certified as hypoallergenic and non-toxic by the FDA (like them or not). I think if you were to distribute tattoos to strangers it might be better if they were skin-safe (it wouldn't be a good thing to have a ronpaulrevolution revolt). But on yourself... go nuts, I guess.

Well the ink drys on the paper for 10 minutes and I quess it is held in place inside the transparancy matererial. But that is a good point to bring out, One can always warn people if you do plan to give some out.

Thanks for the help. I've been fooling around this morning with some of the official campaign graphics - like 'Ron Paul 08' with 'Hope for America' underneath it. Trouble is this is to horizontal-ish to look good at 1.5" by 1.5" and if we put it on a 2.5" by 1.5" then I think there's too much empty space above and below the logo.

Another question is whether the background should be clear so skin shows through it or have the background white, though this would end up looking more like a sticker than a tat. I do like the white background if we go with a round shape so it will look like a campaign button.

I found some great graphics here in the hi-rez EPS or TIFF format required by the printer. I was looking at the top one on the right.

I think what I'd really like is a TIFF or EPS file of the one used on the buttons on the campaign website:

This would look pretty good on the 1.5" by 1.5" tats. I'd use the white background, I think, so it would look like a button - but then I'd need to have a TIFF or EPS file that showed a white circle. I've looked around the internet for any high-rez version of this graphic but can't find anything. Can someone out these please help? I've got to get these puppies ordered Monday or Tuesday at the latest. SOS!

Is this what you are looking for? I created this so I can change the font if you would like.
