I just watched a TED Talk about how progressives should literally leave cities, invade small towns, run for office, and take over.

Didn't realize this was actually a strategy, but apparently it is. And it explains a lot!

You can't live with people who want big government.

Instead of trying to limit government and reduce it's impact and control, they come to get in your business, ban your shit and tax your living.

Joy.

Based on what's happening in Texas, what has already happened in Oregon and Washington, what's currently going on in North Carolina and Florida, I'm sure they will be wildly successful at it.

Freedom is not popular.

If/when we do secede and create liberty oriented communities they WILL do the same thing across national borders if we let them.

This is and those who do it without planning it on purpose is why tight immigration control is a mandatory part of liberty.

The founders thought liberty was popular too.

The Know Nothings tried to warn us but nobody listened. (they had their own problems but on this they were quite right)

Also find the case where in my county, there's the medium sized liberal college town surrounded by a few small conservative towns and the rural county. The county government had been pretty much hands off, allowing the liberal town to do their liberal thing in their city government. But recently the county goverment was found to be a ripe tool to grow its power to extend the reach of the liberal city folk out to the small towns, farmers, and industrial area outside city limits. No moving required.
