Harry Reid was just on CNN. He said that someone wrote him saying this bill sounded looney and that we should just let the market fall and take care of it. Reid said he disagreed then went on to say: "I'm saying is it's very unpopular. Just because something at first glance is unpopular doesn't mean we shouldn't react to it.....we've got calls coming into our offices and emails, people are very unhappy with what we're doing but we believe we have an obligation to the county and that is wall street main street."

Basically, he just told the American people to F*ck Off. Since he's the Senate Majority Leader in some ways he's acting on behalf of all Americans even if you're not living in his state (Nevada). Therefore: Make sure you give this guy hell when you're making your calls.

Called! I went on a very calm rant and stated that Wall Street with a dozen constituents does not equal Main Street with 300 million, and that the 30% of Americans who support the bailout probably wouldn't if they had all the facts. I pointed to Lehman and WaMu as successful market liquidations.

Felt really good! :D

P.S. Got through on the second try.

Bam!

I asked if Senator Reid represented the people or Wall Street and that I just saw him on TV say that he basically doesn’t care about what the people think and that he is dead set on pushing this thing through regardless.

I told the nice lady that this isn’t about the details of this plan or that plan. I told her that we don’t want ANY plan.

She sounded a bit irritated when she told me to have a nice day.

That was fun. :)

Got through at the Carson City office:

"He was just on TV saying most people are against it but he is going to vote for it anyway. He needs to understand why he is there in a leadership position and listen to his constituents. No Bailout in ANY FORM."

Yes, even though you may not be a direct constituent, you can make it clear that you can, nonetheless, campaign actively against him. That includes making contributions to any future opponent.

Bump for everyone who has not yet called Harry Reid's office. He's the head person on the dem side pushing for this. Let him know you'll finance anyone running against him in the future if he keeps ignoring the American people!
