Taliban Have Gone Door to Door Confiscating Privately Owned Firearms – Are You Paying Attention?

“We understand people kept weapons for personal safety. They can now feel safe. We are not here to harm innocent civilians.”
Taliban spokesman (Reuters)

“Safe” is relative with the Taliban, who would rather shoot you dead than tolerate your western ideas. They’ve been what the Daily Mail called ‘marauding’ the streets of Kabul. And making sure the populace is unarmed is a big goal. One woman was shot to death because she wasn’t wearing a ‘head scarf’ (burka - full face veil).

Have you heard that you ”don’t need a gun” argument before? I mean after all, you have the police…who are so overwhelmed that getting to you in time may or may not be feasible. The Taliban are even worse -they may give you a bullet or a beating or stoning just ‘because’ you disagree with them.

Lee Williams from the Gun Writer and the Second Amendment Foundation wrote:

The Taliban are not the first gun grabbers to cite need as a reason for firearm confiscation. Joe Biden has been citing it nearly every time he mentions guns:

“No one needs an AR-15 – period. We have to get these weapons of war out of our communities,” Biden tweeted in February last year.

“There’s no reason someone needs a weapon of war with 100 rounds, 100 bullets that can be fired from that weapon. Nobody needs that. Nobody needs that,” Biden said April 8, during a speech in the Rose Garden.

“No one needs to have a weapon that can fire over 30, 40, 50, even up to 100 rounds, unless you think the deer are wearing Kevlar vests or something,” Biden said June 23.

“Those who say the blood of Patriots, you know, and all the stuff about how we’re gonna have to move against the government. If you think you need to have weapons to take on the government, you need F-15s and maybe some nuclear weapons,” Biden said June 23.

Throughout history, one of the first acts every oppressive regime makes after seizing power is to ban personal firearm ownership. It’s a standard tactic that prevents an outraged populace from fighting back and deposing their authoritarian overlords. Gun bans and firearms confiscation were the rule in the Soviet Union and its satellite countries, Communist China, Germany, Cuba, Venezuela and more.

So pay close attention, America. Our 2nd amendment is meant to protect your weapons from the government. It was created to protect citizens from someone like Biden, who sarcastically used the same Eric Swalwell statement about nuking ordinary citizens.

He and the Taliban are on the same page, apparently.

Not surprising.

Like I said, if they wanted their country, the people of Afghanistan had a chance to defend it but they're going to trade 1 tyrant 12,000 miles away for 12,000 tyrants 1 mile away.

No use in wasting our troops on these people.

Correct .

Taliban is stretched thin. If they wanted to resist, they could, but they won’t. They have been pacified.

Maybe the average person in Afghanistan has just had enough and doesn't care anymore? They have been at war for 40 years now. Perhaps the Taliban is telling the truth and will just be sort of bad maybe like the Saudis or similar.

As for the guns, good luck with that. After 4 decades of war there are so many weapons floating around the Taliban will never get them all.

And if the deer are indeed wearing kevlar vests?

It's pretty much a non-issue from my perspective. Sure, it would be fantastic if they let people have guns. But banning guns basically puts them on an equal footing as every other country in the world.

The USA is still quite special in that regard. Which is one of the many reasons we need to protect the culture we still have.... there is nowhere else to go.

So early in the game, they just arrived in the Kabul Presidential Palace few days ago.

Doing things early is overrated. And no one is talking about due process.
