I am a Congressional Candidate running for the NY 21st District, and I want to run an idea that I came up with while at the April 15th DC Freedom Rally yesterday.
All the Ron Paul Candidates should have an official support group with its own private forums and file sharing site to share campaign strategies, marketing material templates, FEC information, etc. Everyone is reinventing the wheel, and learning key information that other candidates can use and vice versa. I have been talking and sharing with other candidates like David Gay and John Wallace. I think we should formalize it with a group.
I am starting to get a sense of competition versus the candidates over fund raising, which is natural and part of our free market mentality. But since we're all after the same goals of extending Dr. Paul's message and giving more representation for liberty to the people, it would behoove us to have a unbiased support organization for the candidates. We will be stronger as a group than divided among ourselves.
I am honestly looking at this as a means to help all the candidates share key information and save time with things such as marketing materials and strategies. This is to help the whole movement, and not just any one campaign, including my own. I have a number of fundraising ideas I want to share, but I can not just post it here as primary and other party competitors could read them.
So I am thinking of using a Meetup as a site, since many of us are familiar with it, and I do not like Yahoo Groups. Does anyone know a better, easy to use system?
This should be a private forum, as we do not want competing campaigns from the candidates district to get access to this information. We could still get advice from non-candidates from public forums such as this.
Let me know if you are wiling to participate and join this group, and I will set it up.
