First of all read this: http://myjwn.com/?page_id=550

<Quote>Evangelical Christians consider the rebirth of Israel in 1948 a fulfillment of prophecy. When President Harry Truman recognized the State of Israel, the chief rabbi of Israel declared, “God put you in your mother’s womb to bring about the rebirth of Israel after 2000 years.” Evangelicals also believe that the reunification of Jerusalem in 1967 was also a fulfillment of prophecy.</Quote>

Second of all: How many of you were apathetic voters??? I know I was. Half of the country isn't registered to vote. We need to get all of those people.

The above excerpt is incorrect. It should read Evangelical Christians who are Dispensationalists consider the rebirth of Israel...

Dispensationalism is only a segment of Evangelicalism and does not represent the eschatolgical views of the whole.

I don't know where these folks get there prophecies. I don't believe 'em and I'm one of the dedicated and rare *INTJ* Christians.

im not trying to say i agree or not, but acording to wiki of evangical christians their biblicism and bible prophecy consider the rebirth of Israel in 1948 a fulfillment of prophecy. But tfelice, you are half right that Dispensationalists ephisize this much more.

Ding! Ding! Ding! This is what we need to win. But so far, I think most of them are going to Obama just because he is cool or whatever.

Don't trust wiki as a definitive source on Theology. It's a Dispensationalist belief almost exclusively. I have never run into anyone that hold to the other eschatological views that believe this about national Israel.

Here's some reference material for you

That doesn't mean you couldn't support Paul, I believe that Israel is the Holy Land, and we must protect it, but I'll send my money there, not the people's. As far as prophecy goes, the return of the Jews for the final time to Israel is a sign of the end times, whether this the final return has yet to be seen. I have a sneaking suspicion that if Dr. Paul wins the end isn't even close.

I'm a Christian, and I've studied the bible, and I believe that numerous prophecies have been fulfilled regarding Israel, including the rebirth of Israel.

I don't, however, agree with Hagee's teaching about a dual covenant and the other stuff he teaches.

To be honest - when I first got interested in Ron Paul's candidacy, I was undecided for a little while, namely because I had heard that he was "anti-Israel." As a Christian, I had a problem with supporting someone who possibly was anti-Israel. Then, as I learned more about Dr. Paul and looked into his positions, I realized the things I had heard about him weren't true, and that he wanted to cut off BOTH sides, which arguably can benefit Israel, since we give more to Israel's enemies now.

I think that if we emphasize to potential Christian voters that he ISN'T anti-Israel, they would get on board with Paul, as I did.

Agreed. :)

From the New Hampshire exit polls, it looks like Romney and McCain voters are the ones with the highest opinions of Ron Paul, by far.

Correct, you could also characterize what the US is doing right now as anti Israel.
We are giving their enemies more money right?

Your average Huck or Obama supporter doesnt know this. I can pretty much guarantee that...

It frustrates me that people defer so much to Israel by default

It kind of annoys me that people have this attitude about Israel by default, what makes it different from any other country? It pisses me the hell off, if you wouldn't care that a candidate doesn't support country a or b, then why should you care if they support country c, not to mention Israel is no angel, they do some seriously messed up shit, they could kill a hundred thousand people tomorrow and Americans would call you an anti-semite if you disliked Israel.
