PB was on TV few days ago speaking for some Israeli loddy funded campaign supporting displacing of Palestinians from their homes and replacing them with Israeli settlements and immigrants of preferred races from other countries. He may be a religious fundie like Palin, but not a conservative.

I am a religious fundamentalist. Do you have an issue with Christians?

Do you like him believe that forcing out legal owners of a land and building settlements on that land of a preferred race's tribe is fulfilling God's promise?

If not, we don't have a disagreement. I only have problem with fundamentalists who oppose freedom, self-determination and equality rights for all.

I'm a fundamentalist myslef but my fundamentals are rooted in a belief that all people have certain inalieanable rights that cannot be taken away. I should have been more nuanced, perhaps religious extremist would be a better term to describe people like Palin, Boone and other evengelicals who share such radical views?

If you are denouncing someone for their faith, then it appears that you do not believe in someone's individual liberty. That is, unless YOU agree with them.

Faith should have no link whatsoever with oppressive disregard for the property rights of other individuals. Should it? Other than to condemn it?

Yes, I agree. I also think that there is way too much referring to people as "religious fundies", "Christian wackos", "zionists", and the like.

I support full religious freedoms for all but anyone who supports oppression of others liberties and fundamental human rights in the name of their faith should be seen as follower of a violent political ideology or religious extremism. If someone's faith demands that they steal my basic human rights and kick me out of my home, I'm not going to see it as a legitimate faith system let alone be tolerant of such a "faith" : -)

As has been the historic tradition, any fundamentals that conflict with modern civilization's freedoms and liberties standrads should be tweaked to bring them in line with modern rights if they are to survive.

where were all of these "conservatives" asking for the troops to come home when Bush was in power???

That is a good question.

Politics
In 2006, Boone wrote an article for WorldNetDaily, in which he argued that Democrats and others who were against the president during the Iraq War could be questioned for their patriotism.[9] He was interviewed by Neil Cavuto on Fox News, where he expressed his outrage against the opponents of George W. Bush (namely the Dixie Chicks) that their criticisms of the president showed they did not "respect their elders."

Who needs Israel anyway?

I just returned from a momentous event in our nation's capital. An organization called Christians United for Israel, or CUFI, convened 4,000 people from all 50 states in several days of briefings and strategy sessions, culminating in an exhilarating, rousing rally in the D.C. Convention Center featuring Jewish leaders and top Christian ministers celebrating the things we hold in common and the spiritual bonds that unite us. The next day, several thousand of the participants fanned out over Washington and Capitol Hill, lobbying virtually every representative and senator on behalf of Israel and its sovereignty.

Why does this remind me of the MIAC report?

Are you going to be the judge? Should we setup a panel full of "deciders"?

I have no legal expertise but if we're trying Palins and Boones and Hagees of the world for crimes againt human liberties, I could volunteer since there is not much ambiguity about the morality of their activism.

I was just trying to point out that Boone is no friend of liberties, this discussion went into a tangential direction. Do you have a view on holy land advocacy of people like Boone, Palin, CUFI etc?

That's pretty scary that you would say that. The Nazis and the Communists hated each other, but they were both tyrants.

I was just trying to point out that Boone is no friend of liberties,
Well, he has been a vocal protestor against the WTO and some of the Group of x meetings.

this discussion went into a tangential direction.
Yes, because you made the remark about religion and since you do that quite often, I thought I would say something about it this time.

Do you have a view on holy land advocacy of people like Boone, Palin, CUFI etc?
I do not hate Israel, if that is your question. In fact, there are a number of liberty-lovers who have been in this fight for many years who do not hate Israel.

Non-interventionism means that we mind our own business, trade with people and talk with people. If that is truly what we believe, then there should be no problem, right?

We can agree on "Love for all, hatred for none".

I was just hoping we can distinguish militant foreign interventionists like Palin, Boone, CUFI etc from traditional "conservatives" who don't follow neoconish agenda. If you read another article from same WND publication, they lobby US congress to intervene in mideast with financial and military aid to support occupation of another people in holy land. My quick comments above in last two posts about being morality policy to try them were not serious statements, I am taking a stance against oppression of human liberties.

At the risk of turning this into a religion discussion, in all seriousness, in my view people/groups cited above have nothing to do with teachings of Jesus; they seem to be practicing violent racial doctrines and satisfying lowly greedy lusts under the guise of religious extremism. But their goal to support an unholy and criminal oppression regime is without doubt highly immoral. One word lables sometime don't do the justice.
Perhaps we can delve into this in a separate discussion in religion section :)

Pat Boone is right about Afghanistan for all the wrong reasons.
No matter how long our guys stay in Iraq and Afghanistan and Pakistan, or what they accomplish, the citizens of those countries will still harbor the old animosities and be infected by the lethal jihadist ideology.
Hey, Pat, does that mean if they were just fighting each other over things like control of land or political power with no religious or ideological motivations it would be OK to stay there and impose our idea or order (no to mention garrisoning a major pipeline network)?

I've got news for you, Pat, it is their country not ours. We shouldn't leave because they are violent wackjobs, we should leave because being there is wrong. Period.

PS that youtube video is a keeper. I LOLed.

Context sensitive advertising can me so amusing sometimes. I wonder if it was "fundamentalists," "CUFI," "Palestinians" or "Zionists" that attracted Fatima's attention.

Since your book says non-believers like me should be executed, I think it's more than reasonable to have a problem with christian religious fundamentalists.

That's the old testament. No one is going to judge you but God.

Is it possible that you have more of a problem with Christians, than they do of you?
