SPAM Iowa Straw Poll with canned spam - food drive

Sorry if this is a duplicate post but are we coordinating a canned good drive for the straw poll?

I can think of nothing more noble i can do for my country than raid the pantry for kids shelters.

is it possible to set up a pile of cans in view of straw voters for the day through the official ron paul booth? can we get the cans to a place everyone will see them?

there may be unload access via beach street, which runs east and west just north of the RP tent. (map @ www.paulforall.com). Does anyone know the area well enough to say whether this is logistically possible? Can anyone who brought cans get close enough to unload them to the right place without a big hassle?

Generally best I think to have someone (or several someones) collect all the donations and then drop them off, that way you're only sacrificing a couple of troops' time. But you want this to be visible because it will get people talking. You can put this on your straw poll flyers - "Bring a can or other food donation with your $35 and come vote for Ron Paul and Liberty at the Ames Straw Poll on blah blah. All donations will go to XYZ."
