Ive read that Obama wants the draft brought back or a forced service stint. McCain wants it to but says it is something we all should do to be free or some BS like that.

If we are really being attacked like they claimed years ago, then fine, go fight if you want to join, and if our army runs low and it is LEGITIMATE...then i would support a draft of some kind, just simply because it would have to happen and ild be the first to go.

But due to all the lies and deceit i feel like both will impose on the general masses that a forced service (draft) is something that must be done to be a "real american".

I will not give them my kids! it just is beyond me how these wars are so avoidable if the rich and powerful would just get along and fight it out amongst themselves.

if my kids grow up and want to join our millitary on their own...fine. but not through lies will i give them up to our corrupt government for political leverage. i will move out of the usa if that time ever comes and ill take my kids with me.

I will never let any government decide if I should fight in a war. That's my decision and I would leave it up to my kids as well.

Our son is 11 and we feel the same way. And I come from a family with much military service.

Satchel, I'm in my 50's, and it was Vietnam when I was young. Fortunately I didn't have to register, legally, due to unexpected changes in the law at the time. I had already been to Canada between my Junior and Senior year of high school vacation.(Drove to Alaska) I had plans of leaving the US if they tried to get ME into Vietnam, and the funniest part is, years later, I learned that my parents had similar plans, although none of us knew the others intentions were similar...
There are people that are cut out for military, and people that aren't, I'm one that's not. I think it's hereditary, my dad only saw the inside of a garbage can when he was in the military. We don't TAKE ORDERS well....

just let me get it straight. if it is a real threat on the USA and not lies, if needed i would join and be the first in line, and my kids would be too if needed. but not through lies and corruption like our government is passing off on most of the public. they will not take my kids lives for their corrupt cause!
