What do yu think about Scientology? I filled out a "personality test" thing earlier, order this book called "Dianetics," very interesting. It has a lot of critics, but it does look interesting. The book is like $25-30 but I got it for a penny + shipping on Amazon ;)

Any feelings about Scientology? I'm not rich, but the religion appears to be about improving oneself? I say I'm not rich because there's a lot of celebrity Scientologists, so yeah, it talks about improving yourself, or is it only for the elites? I don't know... gonna find out though lol. If it is a cult, if they try to milk me, I will just back out of it, no biggie. You can tell the difference between people trying to help you and people trying to scam you, there's clear distinction.

argh! i have thoughts, but don't want ne1 to come spy on me...

consider this dissenting voice silenced and intimidated.

lol. I have heard stories of this! I'd like the attention :p I want to be the guy spying, how do I get to be that guy? I'll ask them when I am contacted

It is just another bastardized "religion" that is fulfilling its purpose. You would have to be an idiot to get mixed up in it.

I can't tell if this is suppose to be a subtle plug or what. Everything you said in this post can be said about Catholicism or joining an after school club.

Scientology is great. You should totally join and pay to learn more.

We love Scientology.

Just don't ask why there's a volcano on the cover. Your R6 implant will fail and stuff. Bad juju.

Oh Holy crap. I don't want to trample on your beliefs or anything, but.... well, it's just....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSAp3GRxxs4

Yeah, it's true, that is what scientologists actually believe. No offense to any scientologists here. But I just gotta say it, "Xenu will prevail". And if anyof those cult members come to my house, beware, there is a sniper on duty sign in my front lawn.

Oh pshaw, that's just your body thetans speaking. You should audit. :p

my last web project was http://www.lawofskepticism.com

for debunking the popular 'law of attraction' / 'the secret', which i later added scientology info to after i found it to be similar... then i discovered how jacked up politics are after never paying attention before. so site is on the backburner.

Maybe you'll make it to the 5th level and go on the "scientology cruise" :) Seriously, I did some research on it recently and the higher "operating thetan" levels are crazy weird... and expensive.

I'm all for Scientology. The more it makes the news, the more I can point to it when arguing that other religions are just as capable of manipulating their followers.

Just do some investigating of the founder of Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard. I have done so, and find Hubbard to be a repugnant character.

And a brief investigation of Scientology by any clear-thinking, intellectually honest person will reveal that it makes no sense whatsoever.

"In addition to violating and abusing its own members' civil rights, the organization [Scientology] over the years with its "Fair Game" doctrine has harassed and abused those persons not in the Church whom it perceives as enemies. The organization clearly is schizophrenic and paranoid, and the bizarre combination seems to be a reflection of its founder LRH [L. Ron Hubbard]. The evidence portrays a man who has been virtually a pathological liar when it comes to his history, background, and achievements. The writings and documents in evidence additionally reflect his egoism, greed, avarice, lust for power, and vindictiveness and aggressiveness against persons perceived by him to be disloyal or hostile. At the same time it appears that he is charismatic and highly capable of motivating, organizing, controlling, manipulating, and inspiring his adherents."

– -- Superior Court Judge Paul Breckinridge, Church of Scientology of California vs. Gerald Armstrong, June 20, 1984.

This opinion agrees with lots of other opinions I've seen and heard about Scientology.

You wanna get mixed up with a bunch like this? Be my guest.

But don't think that all people of faith blindly follow a "religion". Lots of us think for ourselves.

Scientology?

No, thank you.

If only half of what I've read about them is true, they're still a really nasty outfit.

If you suffer from having too much money, however, I'm sure they can help you.

Then why did the first person they trotted out as a "clear" -- someone who was supposed to be able to remember everything about her life, having systematically rid herself of her "reactive mind" -- fail to recite even basic facts about physics, the subject she had majored in, when asked?
