I was wondering why ronpaul.com wasn't redirecting to ronpaul2008.com, so I did a search and found this article. This really sucks, it looks like this guy wants at least 5 figures, and he's not even willing to put a link to ronpaul2008.com. And what's worse is that this is an abandoned domain name. But maybe he'll cave if we give him a reasonable offer, it looks like the Ron Paul campaign already gave up on it.

I don't see the big deal. If you own a website and someone else wants to use the name, they can buy it from you.

In this case, the guy's name is actually Ron Paul, so I can see where the ronpaul.com site has value to him. Five figures is far from an outrageous number.

If the campaign didn't see the value as 5 figures... and in fact, no one else will purchase the site at 5 figures.. thus, the only person who sees its value as being 5 figures is the owner.... Value for a customer is what you are willing to pay for it.

My opinion... when you really don't want to sell something, make an offer too big to be acceptable.

I'm not mad at him for wanting money for it, I would do the same thing if I weren't a RP supporter. But I was just a little disappointed that ronpaul.com was basically a wasted domain. I can understand if the website was a business, but he's just sitting on his name for his own personal satisfaction. You would think he would let that go for an easy 10 thundo.

It's not like this guy gobbled up the URL just to prospect against the Ron Paul campaign. His name is Ron Paul also, and he's a prominent public figure. He has every right to it, and every right to want the market value for its use.

I think the ronpaul.com thing would add little value to the cause.
the $ would be better spent on air time !!
if I wanted to find stuff about hillery I would not waste my time typing in
hillery.com ! .... check it out LOL
or www.hilary.com/ haha

ronpaul2008 is ok but I wish they would update it more frequently !

thats the key ! keep people like me motivated to spread the word.

It's been common courtesy on the web for quite a while now to clarify any confusion caused by domains. You'll see a "we aren't affiliated with blah blah- if you are looking for that click here" type thing from time to time.

Out of honor and respect for the political process of this nation this guy should link to Ron Pauls presidential website, whether he supports him or not. It's just helpful to people who want to learn about him. I think this guy is showing extremely poor character to refuse to be helpful. His website is one page and has no content at all, and he can't even give a simple link to clarify. Unamerican.
