Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul is still an unknown to the general public but has already been a political success story in terms of grass roots activism, fund raising, and utilizing the internet to bypass traditional media to get the message out.
According to officials from Dr Paul’s campaign, Ron Paul’s campaign website had 840,000 people visit the site over the last month with over 2 million page views and an average time on site of 4 minutes per person.
In 2004 there were 142 million registered voters. Approximately one half of a percent all registered voters visited Ron Paul’s website last month alone. According to the campaign, website traffic is growing daily.
Ron Paul’s campaign has been effectively using the internet to get his campaign message out and raise money. The growth in Paul’s campaign website traffic may be an indicator that the candidate is starting to get some momentum for the early primaries.
Paul promotes a non interventionist foreign policy and the Bill of Rights. He also opposes federal income taxes and the Federal Reserve.
Ron Paul is scheduled to be on the tonight show next Tuesday.
