well what do we do if Ron won't do it? Mods: is this more acceptable to keep from being moved? the 2nd part of this has as much to do with RON PAUL'S campaign as the 1st!

If Ron Paul won't register as a write-in candidate? Well I'm pretty sure he won't. Vote third party (Baldwin or Barr) to show the power of this movement.

I'm sick of people debating Barr vs. Baldwin. Vote for one of them and add the two together. They aren't far enough apart (unless you believe that Barr hasn't truly changed) for it to matter, and they aren't going to win. Baldwin folks aren't going to convince Barr folks or vice-versa unless one of them SERIOUSLY slips up before November.

Then when November comes we can say Barr + Baldwin = Paul (if he had run). Plus about 2% more, which I think will be the people who would support Paul if he would run, but instead voted for the lesser of two evils.

this is what i am trying to get into people's heads: WE MUST UNITE AROUND ONE CANDIDATE! That's the only way we have a chance! As bad as he may seem, Nader would be a better pres that obamamccain, so either Barr or Baldwin would be that much better. The CFR has been brainwashing people to vote for one of their guys (they control both rep and dem parties) so we have gotten stuck with one of them for as long as I can remember. Goldwater was the last real choice we had. The only way to unbrainwash them is for the 3rd parties to run ONE candidate and eliminate the 'wasted vote' theory. Maybe we could sponsor some debates with all the 3rd party candidates present and see if this helps.

No, we can't unite around one candidate. It's impossible. Just vote for either Barr or Baldwin. You're going to have to make the choice yourself because it's impossible to stop what's already happening. However, Baldwin will be on the ballot on less states, so that will obviously make it easer for some people to choose.

Exactly. I would love to see us all vote for one candidate, but its not going to happen. The only thing anyone can ask for is for people to vote for either Barr or Baldwin - a write in only counts if Ron Paul registers as one, which he wont.

I've been suggesting for a few days now that we get a grassroots campaign and site together to Vote 3rd Party whether they vote for Bob Barr, Ralph Nader, Chuck Baldwin or Cynthia McKinney. Plus, do research on which states a Ron Paul write-in vote would actually count even if he didn't register (Apparently in Pennsylvania, you can Write-In anyone).

Sure go ahead and waste your time since none of them have a remote chance of winning. Don't waste a thought on any of them lets concentrate on the future of the movement AKA Bj Lawson and all of the other Ron Paul Republicans...

1) Yes, don't waste effort on supporting 3rd party candidates if it's going to take away from helping the Ron Paul Republicans.
2) But that doesn't mean you shouldn't vote for them.
3) Barr and Baldwin doing good would obviously show our power in politics. It's still worth something. Nadar or Green Party doesn't show anything for us and we don't agree with them... so I wouldn't even consider voting them.

Ok guys, first of you're completely distorting my idea. I'm just saying start a grassroots website like this that promotes voting 3rd Party. Instead of Write-In's that won't count, vote for a candidate that does, hopefully its not McCain or Obama. I'm saying we reach out to ALL disenchanted voters, not just Ron Paul voters and push a 3rd party vote. Still go to your local offices and reform the Republican Party. But to dismiss the idea is stupid, I'm not advocating that you should abandon the Revolution, but this election Vote 3rd Party and promote other people to do the same while you're helping B.J. Lawson and the Ron Paul Revolution. Geez...

You know what I think would be funny, and the best way to break the power of the two-party system in future elections? A result like this:

Obama 33%
McCain 32%
3 or 4 Third Party Candidates (Combined) 34%

What you're saying (which is a great idea), is that if everyone who was disenchanted with our political system were to vote for ANYONE other than McCain or Obama, it could send a loud message...sure we don't win the election, but we set ourselves up to rally in future elections, and go a long way towards answering the "electability" question.

just vote for barr, read the manifesto. Its about getting the idea across and making the thought of more personal freedoms and lesss goverment intervention a popular idea. Barr has a great chance at legitimizing the Libertarian party.

Somewhat on topic: All it would take is one teeny, tiny, itsy-bitsy state to have a third party candidate or write-in win it for the whole process to potentially go plaid if it prevents either of the big 2 to get a majority of electoral votes. Whether it's Barr or Baldwin I wouldn't really care either way, but I for one would love to see the fireworks.

I really like the idea of a debate between 3rd party candidates!!

It would be good because those already not wanting to vote for the lesser of 2 evils might actually coalesce around 1 candidate.

now just look at that. If ONE candidate got all those votes, case closed, CFR domination over. All of you saying we can't agree on one candidate are saying we are too stupid to unite to 1st defeat the CFR, THEN go ahead and modify to your individual pet peeves. Jeez, can't you see that any one of the 3rd partiers is better than the obamamccain one choice idiot nonsense?

nicely said. I really don't care if its Barr or Baldwin. Maybe a slight preference, but see just ONE effect of unification! Like the title of one of the John Adams series: 'unite or die'. That says it all!

all right! This would create a way to have OUR debates to focus on all those who for whatever reason are sick of choosing the lesser of 2 evils, or just stay home and not vote out of disgust. Maybe after a few debates, the candidates themselves might unite! Hey, stranger things have happened.
