Ron Paul & Talk Radio

Newbie here. I've been waiting for a guy like Ron Paul to come along for a very long time. Like many of you, I'm anxious to see this campaign become more mainstream. I'm a big fan of talk radio. As a conservative republican, I've listened to the likes of Limbaugh and Hannity for years. The talking heads on the right tend to have massive egos and most of them have been carrying water for the neocons for as long as I can remember. With that in mind, I have a hard time imagining us ever getting their full support in this endeavor. Have you heard any of them even hint at supporting RP's candidacy?

Not really. He was on the Phil Valentine show (a syndicated talk-show host out of Nashville, TN) and while Phil was very nice and very professional during the interview, he's almost giddyily (word?) reported about the spam email fiasco and is always pointing out about "Dr. Paul is good on many issues but he's wrong on the war on terror". So, even most of the ones who seem nice are trying to undermine or marginalize him. These people are NOT our friends although, once Dr. Paul wins the nomination, they'll more or less have to jump on the bandwagon ;0

Oh, and WELCOME!!

They are digging themselves in pretty deep but I also remember a talkshow host in 1980 that hated Reagan with a passion but within a couple of months he became a passionate supporter. I think he even became an organizer for Reagan rallies.

Hannity seems to like Rudy. Rush I don't know. Thom Hartman and The Young Turks have both said good things about Dr. Paul. I hear Howard Stern is also pro Dr. Paul.

I'm a political junkie. I'm also a talk-radio junkie. As a life-long conservative, it's kind of ironic that the only time I ever actually called into a show was to argue with Alan Colmes way back in the early nineties. Yet, Alan Colmes has done a better job of defending Ron Paul than those who profess to be the so-called guardians of truth. Go figure.

I can't tell you how many times I've heard Limbaugh, Hannity, and many others on the right warning us about the “liberal playbook” and “the fax of liberal talking points” that goes out each morning to the "drive-by media". What utter hypocrisy.

How is it possible that not even one prominent high-profile conservative in talk-radio has openly supported Ron Paul when he's clearly the greatest advocate of true conservatism in the entire Republican party? I can only think of one thing that can account for it. They, too, are all marching in lockstep together, sharing the same playbook, and parroting the same talking points, because in reality, they're apparently just as corrupt and programmed as the people they seek to demonize hour after hour, day after day, on just about every talk radio station in the country. They can't legitimately blame it on his poll numbers because they would obviously be much higher if major players in the conservative media were actively recruiting on his behalf.

After all this nation has been through, we finally get a candidate with some genuine integrity that has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to our constitution. And how do the champions of the right respond? They say, “Ignore that old kook and nominate a sleek, well-packaged, war-mongerer with the kind of machismo that we should all idolize.”

When I think about all the hours I’ve wasted listening to their rhetoric…and believing it…it makes me sick. Ron Paul doesn't just talk the talk, he walks the walk. From now on, that's all I'll think about when I hear the talking heads on the right blathering on about “courage”. Give me a break.
