Got this email from Jeff Frazee:

Presidential candidate Ron Paul will be interviewed for 15 minutes by ABC News' chief Washington correspondent George Stephanopoulos this Sunday, July 8, on the program "This Week."

I just spoke to the campaign, and they invited us out to hold a rally for Ron outside of the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC tomorrow (Friday, July 6) @ 12:15pm just before Ron prerecords his interview.

I am putting this together very quickly, so I'm relying on you to RSVP very quickly and get the word out very quickly. Call all your local friends, neighbors, co-workers, and family and meet outside the Mayflower hotel @ 12:15pm tomorrow (Friday, July 6). If we can get a confirmed turnout the campaign will bring Ron early to shake hands and say hello. But I need confirmations to host this event!

Bring your Ron Paul signs, banners, and t-shirts. Does anyone have extra materials they can bring?? Can someone bring a video camera??

Bump.

Doesn't seem to be much interest in this. Just a slow time of the evening?

This Week is a venerable show, in the past hosted by the late great David Brinkley.

It ranks up there with Meet The Press as far as "serious journalism labels" are concerned. Boy George ain't no Brinkley, but the show is very substantive.

Every time I see George Stephanopoulos, I think of Snuffleupagus.

They've got 15 members there; 110 ish in Arlington, 68 somewhere in Maryland. So, I imagine they could get at least 50 or so folks out there on a Friday around Lunchtime. Since its short notice, may not be all that much, but even a couple is better than most candidates get!

Did this event come off? I was just curious. If Ron is going to announce his Q2 efforts on this show Sunday, chances are it will leak out sometime today.

I went to this. Very well attended for impromptu event (the notice really just went out yesterday). About thirty people lining the sidewalk, waving signs, holding up banners for Connecticut Ave traffic. Lots of young people. Ron Paul then showed up, shook hands, thank y'all, etc. Very positive.

Handing out flyers was interesting - I got waved off more than several times w/comments like "I love Ron Paul". Any lots of enthusiasm and two thumbs of for Jeff for organizing, getting signs in everyone's hands, etc.

It would be great if ABC used part of the rally for their interview Sunday.

I was there!

It was great that so many of us were able to get together in such short notice.
