Grassroots initiative from Alabama... This could be awesome for canvasing:

Press Release
January 24, 2008

My name is Crystal Broyles and I am a 22 year-old diehard, freedom loving, liberty craving, Ron Paul for President supporter. I have been working to rally the grassroots troops in an 11th hour campaign effort. What we are wanting to do is print a Ron Paul newspaper to be tossed on driveways in Super Tuesday states. If the media will not give Dr. Paul the coverage he deserves, let's get him that coverage!

Since the media will not allow us to reach people from their TV sets, let's reach them from their driveways and door steps. We all have been working very hard canvassing neighborhoods with literature about Dr. Paul. And that is fabulous. The information we were handing out however, did not have printed information about when to go and vote and the information was limited. People were encouraged to go to RonPaul2008.com and read more about him. However, in the day and age we live in, time is limited and when we are looking for information we want it now, we don't want to have to read something in our hands and then go to our computers and do more research.

Solution: I have taken all the information about where Dr. Paul stands on issues from RonPaul2008.com and laid it out into a newspaper format. If we can get these on most of the driveways in the 24 states which vote on the 5th we can win. The 'newspaper' boldly tells people to vote on Tuesday, February 5th and then it outlines who Dr. Paul is, where he stands on issues and also features some articles he has written and the article written by Mrs. Paul about 'The American Dream'.

I have a printer on standby in Cullman, Alabama. I have lived in North Alabama for about eight years and my parents have owned a small historical publishing company since 2001. As a result, we have used a lot of printers (all over the country) and have found Alabama Web Press to be very efficient and affordable. I have called them, they are on standby and can print 100,000 copies for $6,000. And of course, each 100,000 after that will be less than $6k – the higher the volume the larger the printing discount.

This is our nation! It's time we take it back!

Constitutionalists are endorsing Dr. Paul -- can you either make an official 'donation' or let your members know about this monumental newspaper and collect individual donations from people? Please make all checks out to Alabama Web Press.

Also I heard on RPR radio, the name ronpaulnewspaper.com is bought and ready for development

I think this is one damn good idea! now this is one i could get behind. Maybe meetup groups could really get behind this and get them all over the country.

web printers would be the best for this I guess... anybody knows some good priced web printers?

good idea. its faster even to throw a newspaper into a driveway than to hang a slimjim from a mailbox. a littlemore expensive id think.

I will keep this bumped... many people could use this for canvasing over the weekend or talk about this in meet-ups

This can't take the place of face to face conversations obviously but it's a good idea for final GOTV, if distribution doesn't take a lot of people time.

actually, this is a great idea, but it should be done with similar paper. Make the look and feel as genuine as possible. Put in articles about liberty. It should have multiple pages by different authors regarding the erosion of our liberties, the declining dollar, "FACTS" about the war, and Ron Pauls platform and plan. If executed correctly this could have a huge impact.

maybe we could get the pdf file or some jpgs of the look of the newspaper as is printed now in Alabama... I heard they use newsprint paper, lower cost and looks like a real newspaper, but all abotu Dr. Paul :))

a new day, a new bump
last bump actually... looks like people don't fancy this idea
