"Ron Bushy our beloved legendary drummer of Iron Butterfly has passed away peacefully, with his wife Nancy by his side," the post reads.

"All three of his daughters were also with him. He was a real fighter. He was born Dec 23, 1941. He will be deeply missed!"

Sources told TMZ that Bushy had been battling some form of cancer.

Bushy joined Iron Butterfly in 1966 and was the only member of the band to perform on all six of the group's studio albums.

He had an extended drum solo on the band's 1968 hit single "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida."

Iron Butterfly guitarist Erik Brann died in 2003, while bassist Lee Dorman died in 2012.

Iron Butterfly now consists of Eric Barnett, Martin Gerschwitz, Dave Meros and Bernie Pershey, and is slated to perform Oct. 22-24 in Park City, Utah.

Saw them live… kinda a revival concert that featured several classic bands… I remember IB’s sound was quite good.

RIP

I feel guilty. I just happened to be listening to Slayer's version of In A Gadda Da Vida right now as I am reading this thread.

I saw that a few days ago . RIP. I listened to all of Iron Butterfly a lot in the early 80's because I hung out with a couple guys who also liked it .
