Why do people wait until the last few weeks before they start donating? This makes no sense to me. I know most people arent maxed out because most donations are on average $40.00.

Maybe its just human nature to wait until the last second to do something that should be done today?

Im talking online donations only when I say 4.2 mil by the way.

I dunno, why do people write six zillion messages about fundraising instead of introducing new people to Ron Paul?

I'm not sure why they wait until the end of the quarter but it may be dragging a little right now because people have bills due and rent to pay. Most people only get paid on the 15th and/or 30th/31st. If it hasn't picked up by either of those dates, then I'll start to question people's thought processes.

If you're talking about Mike, he probably does as much or more than anyone here. He's one of the few who actually goes out and hands out campaign literature door-to-door.

Personally, I'm waiting until after the debate on Tuesday.

Right after the debate would be the time to start pushing the donation drive in earnest. Get Lady Liberty up at the top of the page and make up for lost time... Imagine the media boost Ron would get if the $4 million target was reached by the end of October? It would also make the campaign more confident about increasing spending towards these early primary states.

People like a challenge and when the date gets near, peopel are like "i gotta donate!!!"

everyone wants to sink a buzzer beater rather than to hit an early jump shot

Looks like we are averging $50,000 a day so far. With 92 days in the quarter, I get closer to $4.6 mil.

Still, I think the point is the same. It looks like Q4 is coming along around or slightly less Q3, when it really needs to be much better to continue the momentum.

I was at a planning meeting today for Meetup group organizers in/around Seattle. We passed the hat and emptied our wallets.

I plan to kick in a few hundred more when I get my next paycheck. I'm sure there are others like myself that "maxed out" on the last frenetic 1MM drive and need to get some more paychecks coming in.

The other thing you have to remember is how many people really extended themselves to make the September numbers happen. The answer can't be just to get more money. Although, they do say our average supporter gave $40, so that'll help. We need more people.

It's cause at the end of last quarter, everyone was encouraged to give as much as possible, to beat the third quarter deadline, and many listened. And to expect that same rate of giving of $1m/week, just a few days later is unrealistic.

Question: does average donation count as per individual or per donation. For example, I donated 20 bucks on multiple occasions. So would that mean that I donated $100 dollars or that 5 people donated 20 dollars. Basically, would it count me as 5 people or as 1 person?

Right after 3Q we started going slow at 20-25k per day then last few days jumped to 50-52k per day. There is still signs that Ron Paul will outraise 3Q but from the looks of it, it seems he might only raise 7 to 8million. He could reach 10+ but not without some more tv and radio ads and more literature passed out.

We are taking a deep breath. Debate + new payday+ new sopprters = 5 xtra Mil.!

$4.2 million is pathetic. We have set the bar high my friends, and it would be a tragedy if we failed to jump over it this quarter. We have come this far and it seems like people have conceded that we can't raise the $12 million. With that attitude, we probably won't. I still believe though. I believe in freedom and spirit and resolve. I believe in our ability to fight for this country. I'm a believer. You can join The Monkeys, Smash Mouth, and myself or you can continue to drag us down to the depths of hell.

I'm waiting for my paycheck so I can send more $$$ on over. Every paycheck on the 1st and 16th, another $100+.

BTW, this would set me up for close to a maxout, if not maxing (because $100 is an absolute minimum per check).

I'm guessing alot of people gave til it hurt...... We're not made of money.

Give us a chance to get a little more money in our pockets.

The way I figure it, we all need to double our donations from last quarter, and then whatever new supporters we get that donate will help put us over the top.
