Recommended Camcorder?

Im looking for a budget camcorder. Around the $400 range just to record my kick ass meetup activities. Any recommendations. I don't need the best just enough so its viewable on youtube.

cheap Samsung, you can get a decent camcorder for 400.

If you just want it for youtube, I'd buy one at a yard sale or on ebay. There are even relatively inexpensive digital cameras that will take a video good enough for youtube. I like Canons... mine's a little pricier, but a lot of the cams in the powershot line take really nice video.

Sony Handycams are really easy to operate, and you should be able to find one that's well priced.

Canon Elura 100, I got mine for about $350. The image quality is the best in that price range.

Actually, if all you're going to do is upload to YouTube, you would be fine with any cheapy, even one from a yard sale or whatever as the previous poster said. The image is reduced so much on YouTube that you can't tell the difference. Just make sure it's MiniDV or Digital8 and has a firewire port (and make sure your computer has a firewire port...)

Make sure you get an external microphone. Sound is a really important part of those videos.

I would go with a Sony or a Canon that uses a MiniDV tape, cheap and easy. The dvd ones only get 30 min of video and they are just a hassle overall. I sell electronics part time and sony and canon are the ones customers seem to be most satisfied with.

The most important thing to look for in a camcorder is optical image stabilization and the ability to record in low light levels and a jack to plug a quality mike into and a headphone jack so you can hear how good one is recording. these aren't expensive. I would think a hard drive one would be the best for longer recording and easy fast editing.
