Preventing another "Reno"

I hope people are strategizing about how to deal with what happened in Reno at future
upcoming conventions. My first suggestion is to find out the details from the hotel about
how long conventioneers can stay over their alloted time if it comes to that. My second
is to videotape everything & if they don't allow camcorders, bring small mp3 audio
recorders to document the conventions.

Yes, let's hope that eveyone uses "strategery" and can be the "decider" of the conventions!!;)

Bring these guys along:

I plan on bringing my video camera to the Maine Convention, as well as a digital camera just for fun. If things go bad, I suppose they can be used for documenting that too... though I really hope it does not come to that.

If it's clear we have a majority, we just need to motion to elect a new chair as soon as the convention begins.

I think people also need to be aware of Robert's Rules of Order, how quorum are decided and the "assumed" quorum if no one asks for a count. If people knew that a recess couldn't be called without a vote, would things have been different? If every RP supporter would have stayed would they have had a quorum? Surely some people left when the lights turned off and the chair left.

Anybody own a hidden camera?

LOL--I've been calling the rules used at some of these conventions, much less disorganised than the MO and NV conventions, as "Bob's rules of disorder." Maybe the MO & NV followed "Rob's rules of disorder?"

If Beers took any convention materials with him when he left without a proper recess then I don't understand why the police could not be called to arrest him for stealing.
