I was wondering how many tickets we can buy with the efforts of the people of RonPaulForums.

The IOWA STRAW POLL.

Note: I am wondering though, is it better for us to spend our money on buying tickets for people to vote in the straw poll, or is it better to donate this money to the campaign?

Some questions on Logistics:
How do we buy tickets?
How do we disperse tickets?
Who decides who gets them?

I think the idea is great....but how do we implement it?

Ideally, the campaign would set up a separate "Iowa Straw Poll" donation thermomoter-style thing and hopefully they'd use that money to buy tickets and distribute it via campaign staff/organization. I think we need to get on them to buy tickets! Forward them Romney's free ticket offers. that should scare the hell out of 'em. Thats the best way to do it. I dont want us to have to do this without the support of the campaign. We need their infrastructure

the campaign can't be a part of "Adopt an Iowan".

This is a grass roots effort by us alone.

Because sending money through the internet is esly abused, a better option is to buy tickets and send them to the Des Moines and Ames meetup group leaders. They will distribute them to people willing to go to the poll and vote for Dr. Paul, but aren't willing to buy their own ticket can still go and vote.

Unless too poor I would think this is a little insulting to Iowans. If they are like us a mere $35 is not going to deter them, for how many of us would give our fortunes or lives for freedom and Ron. Do we have to stoop so low to buy votes. Just my opinion.

This is true, but it if someone is on the fence and is offered a ticket, perhaps it's just enough to pull 'em over. But, where do we buy the tickets, and how do we get them to the people who can distribute them? With out these questions fully answered, this is a moot point.

You have to realize that Romney, Giuliani, etc will be handing out free tickets to potential supporters and many people will feel an obligation to vote for someone who paid their way even if they dont agree with them. We need to level the playing field

Whats the point of going to the straw poll to get a free ticket to vote for someone you don't agree with? Why not just... NOT go to the straw poll? I doubt its that fun or anything... not sure why youd want to go there for any reason other than to support your candidate.

free food and drinks. Live music. fireworks.

Sounds like a real snoozefest. :p

Is this another "what if" poll, or is someone gonna take the bull by the horns?

But those are the tickets we want. Just for ther reason that the other campaigns paid for them. Seriously... Think about it.

They are paying you in-kind for you participation.

Sounds like vote buying to me. And we can all agree that vote buyings is morally questionable if not wrong.

Just tell your Iowan friends to accept the tickets from the campaings because it only makes the victory so much more sweet. The other campaigns will have dumped all that money in, yet gotten nothing for it. If they then complain about us using their tickets, we just say that they gave them away for free and were trying to buy our vote. Then THEY look bad for "vote buying."

This is a win-win for us.
