Poll Claims Most Republicans say the COVID19 Death Toll is Acceptable

Well, let's see, if there had only been two deaths then I guess it wouldn't have been considered a pandemic. So, yes, when a pandemic hits I think up to 5% of deaths are acceptable. Possibly more. It's a fucking pandemic.

I also think the media and local media are covering up the new infection rates six months when it hit they were open quite well, how nursing center units were heavily hit and now they wont even state where these infections or even deaths had being happening,

Another proof that these so called polls are just basically ridicules, fake, useless?

Poll Claims Most Republicans say the COVID19 Death Toll is Acceptable

Or proof that people will blindly line up behind their "team" no matter what. If these same number of deaths had happened under a democratic president you'd see a mirror image of the polls with democrats finding this to be "acceptable losses" and republicans screaming bloody murder. Trump got lulled into a false sense of security by Dr. Fauci who said this would be likely no worse than a bad flu. https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMe2002387

What Trump should have done, when he stopped travel from China, is to stop international travel period despite the public outcry. Americans traveling abroad should have been allowed to come to U.S. military bases and/or embassies/consulates for a 14 day quarantine after which they would be given free travel back to the U.S. destination of their choice. Every time a case was spotting in the U.S. there should have been a general alert issued that if you were anywhere in the vicinity of that case you needed to get tested. Would all of that have stopped the virus? Maybe. Maybe not. But nobody would have been able to accuse him of not taking things seriously. I am certain things would have been just as bad or worse in Hillary had been in charge. Sometimes appearances are everything.

I think the wording is very misleading. All deaths are regrettable. But yes I think that 175,000 out of 330,000,000 with the vast majority having a co-morbidity is not that bad.

I saw one breakdown on new deaths somewhere online. I believe it was for a county, and there were about 7 deaths, all over 60, most 70s and 80s, several in a nursing home.

We don't even know what the actual death toll is since numbers are being inflated and fudged.

And they are still adding deaths to their stats from months ago and pretending like they are new.
