I have no idea what the circumstances were here, but if you're going to MN, be advised:

Some disturbing news we received from I-Witness Video early this morning:

"Our colleagues at the Glass Bead Collective, a group of video artists and documentarians, are in the Twin Cities to prepare for the Republican National Convention. They were swarmed by three police cars, detained and had all of their electronic gear, including laptop computers, videocameras and personal items were taken from them by Minneapolis police. No one was arrested. The stop and seizure was explained by police officers as related to Homeland Security and the Republican Convention. "

And here it goes......I was worried that the RNC might try to play off any foul play and it seems indeed they are.

I simply can't believe this story. If true and I were involved, I'd sue the living life out of the city of Minneapolis. If true, someone needs to pursue the city of Minneapolis in court until the city is financially broke and the taxpayers are up in arms at having to foot the bill.

hmmm I plan on taking my Mac with me. If anyone tries to *uck with my computer I would probably have instant ROID RAGE.

hmmm I wonder if I would run into any problems since I have a pretty high security clearance. Guess I will just have to wait and see.

Thanks. We still don't have all the facts, but the city of Minneapolis has made a massive error which will likely cost them much. Hiding behind the illegal DHS won't help their case in the slightest. How much could the innocent victims legitimately drain out of the city of Minneapolis and the federal government? Just get a freedom-loving lawyer who sees this case as a path to greater things. Sure, the city of Minneapolis and the government will use every tactic at their disposal to obstruct justice, but pursue, pursue, pursue until the end of the earth. When the city and the federales see their resources dropping like a hot rock and their illegal actions exposed, then they'll cave, but don't compromise. Pursue, pursue, and pursue some more until the victims have drained these bloodsuckers of their life. What America really needs is a crash course in criminal and civil law so they're capable of representing themselves in court and pursue, pursue, and pursue these bloodsucking thieves.

I know the guys who lost thier WORK related computer are being paid $60,000,000 a hour for blogging. They should sue for lost wages :)

three words for ya.... John Birch Society. I really can't fathom being harassed by cops for having a laptop and video camera. I better make sure I have my attorney on speed dial before I head out to MN

Well there will probably be a freedom loving lawyer in Minneapolis next week... well just one or two.. ;-)

yes...these things happen

This is why many companies now are sending lappys to the locations versus risk of being siezed by the KGB... oh I mean the DHS...

this is exciting!!
