LOL, when I was visiting Australia, I was sitting in a pub talking to one of the locals and told him after visiting a lot of countries, it was nice to be in a country where they speak English. He replied, "Who's speaking English?"

I guess they speak Australian there.

New Zealand is terrible. You don't want to come here. Polluted, ugly, socialist, crime-ridden, expensive. Emergency medical care is even free. Can you believe the gall? Plus, I think they just had a big nuclear spill or something.

PSSSST: I just happen to have a water front property for sale two hours from Auckland close to the Coromandel Peninsular...google it. The dwelling is sub-standard but it is idyllic for fishermen. Och and i might even throw in marriage for a RP supporter if you are in your 50's- for residency only. Don't tell anyone.

Nooo. Not the RV tours. I hate those Maui vans or whatever they're called. With all the dreaded right-sided drivers, they even have to paint big arrows on the road near rest stops on the south island to help remind people to drive on the correct side.

Well, if you're coming, the north island is waayy better. Up near Auckland or even further north. Like raiha said -- go check out the Coromandel. I understand White Island volcano is gorgeous this time of year.

Did you know that gambling, going topless in public and prostitution are all legal in NZ? Plus, the drinking age is only 18. It's a very scary place. I'm sure you'd like Australia better -- they're a lot more like the US; it'll feel more like home.

I haven't seen any cholas/cholos. In fact, I don't remember seeing any latinos/hispanics at all -- which is quite a change from California. Up in Auckland, though, anything's possible. We don't even get the Boobs on Bikes parade down here.

I heard that you could only immigrate to NZ if you are young and prosperous...they refuse older people, because they say they have less to contribute..sounds socialist to me.
