Who is getting the permit?
Do we have the permit?
Have you (or anyone you know) talked to people about getting the permit?
Do you believe June 21st is cemented? (Even without a permit)

Just some concerns of mine. I want to make sure there's at least a good chance of us securing permits for June 21st before I go out and advertise this in a big way. I don't want to go get everyone back and say the date was changed.

Not sure if this is accurate

Looks like we have to get a permit for every bus full of supporters:confused: Does anyone know if this is true?

I haven't heard of anybody securing a permit for the march or rally yet, so I guess one of us has to take the bull by the horns.

Here's who we need to contact for a permit:

We need to elect someone to be our Event Planner and meet with the Special Events Task Group at least 120 days before the rally.

Wouldn't it would be easier if we get someone already in DC to do this?

Here is the FAQ from the Metropolitan Police Dept. of DC.

This needs to get going PRONTO... 3 months out is barely enough time to even secure the proper permits it seems.

Some hi/lo-lights:

As an event planner, you are required to meet with the Special Events Task Group at least 60 days prior to your proposed event. Due to the large number of events held in Washington, DC, and the District's extensive regulations that govern event planning, you should contact the Task Force at least 120 days in advance of an event. For parades, demonstrations, and other permits controlled by the Metropolitan Police Department, you can initiate this notification by completing the appropriate forms (see below) and mailing them to the MPDC's Special Operations Division. Contact the DCEMA at (202) 727-3165.

This site seems to be the starting point for planning information with links to the necessary forms to be filled out.

The hard part is that permits need to be secured from multiple agencies (most likely). The ball needs to get rolling.

Hope this helps.

Revolution March seems to be recruiting a staff. I like the sound of doing it democratically, but it would take a couple weeks to do that.

I'd really like to see Revolution March come out with a detailed plan.

To get the permit we need someone who lives near DC to fill out this form because I believe they also need to meet with the MPDC Special Events Task Group.

Does anyone know anything about organizing a demonstration of this scale?

I have emailed Revolutiomarch.com which is supposed to be organizing the march and asked them if they are getting a permit.

Try asking about the permit on this message board which is affiliated with RevolutionMarch:
http://www.ronpaulmarch.com/bb/

We only have 103 days left to the 21st out of the recommended 120 days for preparation so we must get cracking if anything is to be done at all!

I found this blog entry on revolutionmarch.com on March 2nd. Unforunately there have been no updates as to the permit's status since then. Can anybody get in contact with them?

Date of March
Many people are still asking about a date and all we can tell you the application for permit is in and we should know soon! We know a lot of people are trying to make plans and we are calling the National Parks Services daily to push them to approve our application for permit.

the thing I am worried about is this,

will they allow 2 of the same "style" of marches ON d.c. in the same year? I can see them using some rule saying something against it or you would have certain groups doing a march or rally on d.c. every week just by getting the permits.

I do think already having someone go and get a permit is going to be a possible issue for the #2 march.....

Newyears, I'm sure the government can't limit us to using our First Amendment Rights only once a year. It's bad enough already that we need a permit to practice our right to assembly which "shall not be abridged"

I like plan B, screw the permits, eveyone just go to DC on june 21st, we dont need a permit if we all show up in DC as individual tourist. Ron Paul basiclly told us to do that in his last video, he said that its a legal mess and impossible to get the permits. ron paul told us that he cannot setup the march/rally. but he would like it to happen on june 21st.

So there is a resounding "FUCK PERMITS, Everyone go to DC as an individual tourist on the 21st"

GOT IT! :D

There is such an easy sollution to the bus problem it's not funny!

see all those metro stops OUTSIDE DC city limits?...

and then there is the MARC.

OTOH - it would probably be less expensive to just get the damn permit, because those metro passes add up in cost.

ugh - it's in sections... :(

You all bring up a good point; the idea of getting a permit to protest from the very establishment we are protesting is rather idiotic.

However, I still believe we should still try our hardest to obtain the permit in order to stay within the unconstitutional law of our oppressors:mad:.

If this proves impossible though and no permit is secured, I will certainly show up as an individual and I hope to see all of you there as well. The municipal government of DC has no right to abridge our First Amendment constitutional rights to PEACEFUL assembly.

The key word here is peaceful. When we do this we must be well prepared to deal with planted agent provocateurs which will probably try to instigate violence so that the police can use their own brand of violence against us.

Everyone must bring cameras, and despite our intrinsic Second Amendment rights we will obey the DC weapons ban. It is certainly possible that an agent provocateur could brandish a weapon though. Once again, we must be well prepared for such underhanded tactics.

The police cannot instigate violence against peaceful protesters, regardless of whether they have a permit or not. Our entire country is still a "Free Speech Zone" whether the establishment likes it or not!

Does anyone know how long it took the Granny Warriors to get their permit?

I think the march on the 15th is great, but a lot more people seem to be ready to show up on the 21st. I would come to both, but I can only really afford to come to one, so it will be the 21st for me.

However I applaud those marching on the 15th, and if I have a windfall of cash before then I will come:D

There are definitely applications pending for June 21 and June 22.

Excellent!

We need to get RevolutionMarch to start posting updates here.

A lot of people seem to not know what is going on because of the lack of information pertaining to the status of the permits and the overall organization process.

I have emailed them but about this but have yet to receive a reply.

But from looking at their blog, forum and website it looks like they are doing a LOT right now. So hang in there:D
