It's not well known, but House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has an additional anti-war primary challenger for her congressional seat in California's 8th District.

She's Shirley Golub, 61, who has worked on Dennis Kucinich's presidential campaigns this year and in 2004. The most prominent plank in her platform: impeachment of President Bush.

"It is outrageous and unacceptable that any member of Congress, let alone our majority speaker, should unilaterally declare that impeachment is 'off the table,' and so defy the Constitution herself," Golub said in a flier circulated to activists at the Take Back America conference.

Were she elected, Bush would already be out of office.

And another socialist would be in.
I can agree with her on a couple of issues, but not enough to support her.
Find another candidate to run against Pelosi.

Hey Bush will be long gone when he is out of office. I have no doubt he will go into hiding....

I think you underestimate his cockiness--and overestimate his intelligence. He's been doing bad things his whole life and hasn't had to pay the price yet. Other presidents get some fifty thousand bucks a pop for making an incoherent speech--why wouldn't the brat get the same?

If Bush ever goes to prison, I am flying to the rally no matter where it is on Earth in order to see him in cuffs with my own eyes.

This whole impeachment dream is just that, a dream. TYou can make yourselves feel better with this political masturbation, but Bush will neither hide, nor be impeached nor indicted.

That is political reality. Those few politicians that call for it will be faced with a firestorm of opposition, even from their own party, as noone wants to be caught in the political hypocrisy that creates these situations.

Dream if you want, but the reality is, it ain't a gonna happen.

I think Bush already took care of that. Some bill that prohibits him or his administration from being indicted for war crimes or similar wording. Probably buried in one of his FISA, Patriot Act, or many other acts or whatever. But it is somewhere.

Probably inititated by some of the stories below.

Brattleboro, Vermont calls itself the place “Where It Can ALL Happen!” That appears to include a possible indictment of Bush and Cheney on war crimes. A petition with the required number of signatures was presented to the Brattleboro Selectboard on January 25th, and they voted 3-2 to place the measure on the ballot.
