Paul at 5% in Texas Poll

You missed the important quote...

By age group, the field is wide open among voters under 40, with five candidates (including Ron Paul) statistically tied for the lead.

This is among prior GOP primary voters under the age of 40. Advertisements haven't gone national as of yet, and very few people outside the early states are paying attention to Presidential candidates. Once the campaign (including the grassroots) is able to get Dr. Paul's name and message in front of eyeballs over the age of 40, these numbers will increase.

I'm dutifully impressed by this showing.

Bump, impressive so far. Very little official campaigning thus far in Texas.

Hunter was actually there, campaigning directly to the attendees of the Texas GOP Straw Poll.

Dr. Paul's support likely didn't qualify the stricter restrictions the Texas GOP put in place for that Straw Poll. New Republicans and independents were not allowed to vote.

I was at the straw poll in TX and I shot this video. We saw lots of Ron Paul delegates get turned away. The Granny Warriors were there and someone from their side of the building watched a Mitt Romney bus pull up after they locked the doors and the whole bus load of people got in.

Huckabee is getting a lot of free media and press attention which is why his camapaign is doing well despite the difference in campaign dollars.

Wow, even on a traditional media poll Paul is "statistically tied for the lead" among the under 40 crowd. I just wish it was them who turned out in droves, not senior citizens. :) And a tie for us is to our advantage, in my opinion, since we have the most passion to follow through with whatever answer we give the pollster, plus we have more support that isn't captured by the standard polling methods.

So if we take this and the other polls to mean anything, we really need to be targeting the over 40 crowd (and especially the over 65 crowd) and women. Hell, we might already be in the lead among young men.

Part of that is a demographic disadvantage. Freaking Baby Boomers. There's a ton of them (THANKS WWII!).

When that shit happens, you don't wait, you act.

No one will pull that shit with me, I guarantee it

Act how? It was a private event and they can keep out whoever they want. The Ron Paul delegates were late due to a miscommunication. I've seen no proof of Mitt people being let in late.

that video was so messed up...i would have had everyone just push in, that would make some news

The people who walked by already had their credentials, a tag that you hung around your neck. You could get back in if you had gotten this earlier in the day. You do not have a "right" to get into a private event.
