Oh how time flies, only 16 months before Ron Paul decides to run in 2012 or not

I just ran the numbers and I was astounded how close we are to officially knowing if Ron Paul will decide to run again.

His 2008 campaign officially began in January 2007. That means we are looking at January 2011 for the official announcement, one way or another. That's only 16 months away!

Can you IMAGINE how mobilized and experienced we'll be by then compared to January 2007?

I say he runs even it it's only to raise even more awareness than his last campaign.

He ran at 71-72. So it's not too out of the question. Keep in mind the campaign will start when he is 75. He would be 77 at the start of presidency.

If there is serious economic hardship, then people really won't care about things like age. Plus, republicans remember Reagan and think old guys = good.

First, he'll be 75 if he announces. Secondly, if he were to not win in 2012, he would be 77 when he ends his campaign. Reagan was 78 when he left office. Would it do no good to wake up others during those 2 years?

I actually think you're right too sadly. Obama was soooo popular before and when he got elected I don't think its possible for that popularity to die down enough for him to not be re-elected. Another thing too, tons of new voters that couldn't vote last time that will this time will vote for Obama since he was the first-ever popular presidential candidate among teenagers, which is wierd. I found it very strange to say something about politics around teenagers, and then they actually knew one of the candidates by name, of course it was "the black guy" though lol. (thats just stupid to know who he is just because he's black)

I'm split between Paul or Johnson. Paul would have a tremendously powerful campaign this time, but yes he is very old, and his wife is in bad health I hear. But Johnson lacks the recognition Paul has, and it could potentially take time to bring all the other Paul supporters back together under Johnson since we will have to let them know about him, or they will have to figure out he's another ron paul on their own. I'm not sure how fast those two things can happen.

1. His age

3. The public wouldn't have been able to understand him even if he spoke coherently, because they don't care.
