...was anyone else stoked when near the end of Jesse Ventura's speech during the Rally For The Republic, he hinted around at running as 3rd party in 2012? Honestly, I think he's the closest chance we have at someone with some of Ron Paul's ideas actually getting MSM attention, getting in debates, and beating the two party system. Any thoughts?

I liked the notion, just not the attitude.

"No, cheering isn't going to do it - you have to show me that it's worth it."

Meanwhile, I shall sit on my ass in Mexico while the revolution brews. Be back in 3 years.

Gee golly, if we're good uncle Jesse will LET us have a revolution. :rolleyes:

He's got solid principles and charisma. He probably has a greater ability then most to launch a third party run it's great to have hope in 2012.

I never understood how people see him as possessing charisma. He isn't willing to stay and help, he wants us to do the work so he can come back from surfing in Mexico and surf the wave we make. There are better people then Ventura in this movement that could run in 2012.

Ventura's a hard nut to crack. he seems like a good guy, and his personality would certainly gain attention from the media (he's a household name) but his energy is excitement as opposed to charisma -- we need honest charisma and wisdom -- Ron Paul is a rare breed.

<shrug>

Stoked...no.

Possibly hopeful....maybe.....yes.

2012 while only a short time away in political campaign terms, is a lifetime away while we will be suffering through a horrible remainder of 2008, a worse 2009 and an abysmal 2010 in terms of erosion of liberty and debilitating economic collapse under the current one party dictatorship. :(

Yea i hear ya,

but one could also argue that Jesse has contributed more to Public Service and the security of his country than the average person.

I think he will continue to fight the information war, even though he'll be in mexico, it's not like he's going to disappear and then re-appear in 4 years.

If you read Jesse's book, he genuinely believes he will get assassinated if he does run. He probably wants to make dam sure he enjoys the next 4 years of his life with his family, before making that run that might get him killed.

I dont blame jesse for being arrogant (his record is awesome), i dont blame him for asking questions about 911, nor do i blame him for wanting to enjoy his life as much as possible after many years of service to his country and people.

I really, really hope he makes the run in 2012 with Paul at his side (or Vice Versa)!

Yeah, a lot of people don't like Jesse's arrogant attitude - and I can't totally understand that. But I'm talking about a real chance at someone that promotes the constitution, and speaks out against the two parties actually having a chance. I'd be far more concerned about just getting someone like this in the white house rather than complain about their personality or where they spend their winter months.
