Current Schedule I believe is:

Jan 3rd-Thursday: Iowa
Jan 5th-Saturday: Wyoming
Jan 8th: Tuesday: New Hampshire

If my memory serves me correctly, Iowa is holding their caucus(sp??) not their primay.

thats the loophole, Iowa is not a primary its a caucus. So technically any other state with a caucus/convention is allowed to go ahead of them

That explains it. I never really believed the NH primary would be in early December. A Paul win would have meant tons of press before the Iowa vote. This takes the air out of NH, legally and makes Iowa the launching pad for the nomination.

Not necessarily...remember, January 3rd will likely be overshadowed by lots of football games and New Year's party hangovers.
