New Trump AG pick: Pam Bondi former FL AG

Pam Bondi fought for the open carry ban in Norman v. State and the under-21 ban in NRA v. FDLE at the direction of her boss, then Governor Rick Scott.

And did those laws get overturned? Is it not her job to defend challenges to state laws? Not exactly reflective of personal views, she just uses the same arguments the state legislature uses to pass the law.

Her first job is to uphold the Constitution.

She's a political animal, I'm content to watch and see how this plays out.

Matt, you're in her state and I don't know her. Besides your pet issue, how does she fare on everything else? Don't get me wrong, 2nd Amendment issues are huge, but I really want an AG who understands the corrupt system and will work to end it. Any input?

She doesn't have the motivation to to do what needs to be done there. I mean yeah she might do some good things, but she isn't going to give the DOJ the enema it deserves like Gaetz would have done.

Yeah, I'm sure... What a bummer.

I'm hoping we haven't seen the end of this. We may see some more turns and Matt may end up in a place to do something great.

The state attorney is now weighing in on George Zimmerman’s push to question Trayvon Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump.

A judge ruled earlier that Zimmerman’s attorneys could not question Crump before the trial. The defense wants to ask Crump, under oath, more about witness number eight, the young woman believed to be Trayvon’s girlfriend. Zimmerman’s defense team appealed the judge’s ruling.

Now, in a new 41 page legal response, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi is asking the appeals court to agree with the judge’s decision, and to not allow the defense to question Crump in a deposition.
