I posted this on an earlier thread but no responses from Paul's campaign or Paul himself.

A number of illegal immigration websites are furious Paul has not signed the SAVE Act.

Can someone please tell me why this is? They have made calls to the Paul headquarters and no answers yet.

This is very important guys. We need him to sign on to this act or give a good explanation as to why he is against it.

I doubt Ron comes here and answers you. Send him an email if you wan´t to know.

I don't know. Maybe it has something to do with this:
And as Mr. Shuler and Mr. Bilbray write in this section today, the SAVE Act also would expand the E-Verify program, a Web-based system that cross-references information such as Social Security numbers to ensure that a worker is legally in the United States. The program is already being used voluntarily by 56,000 American employers; the SAVE Act would phase it in for all employers over a four-year period. Having E-Verify in place benefits American workers currently faced with unfair competition from illegals. And it would also free employers from having to function as forensic document experts, poring through workers’ personal information and work history in an attempt to discern whether someone can legally work in the United States. "Making E-Verify mandatory will protect American workers and law-abiding businesses from the unfair competition created by a massive illegal workforce," Messrs. Shuler and Bilbray write.

Someone who believes in original intent, like Paul, will say that defining who an employer can and cannot hire is an unconstitutional breach of power by the U.S. Congress. Giving the central government this power treads dangerously close to socialism. In fact, that IS socialism. The Founders did not intend for the federal government to make dictates to employers. That particular right was left to the state and/or the people.
Perhaps we should also point out that if there is anything that does not look constitutional in any bill, if there is anything in a bill that would impede upon your liberties, Ron Paul will not vote for it.
