Need help on Iraq War Spending

I stated on another board that Iraq War spending is roughly one-third of the Federal budget. I got a response saying that the war has cost us $458 billion over the last four years and the 2007 Federal budget is $2.7 Billion.

Am I right? Wrong? or is there something else I need to include to show that War or military spending comes up to that one-third figure.

Anyone, please enlighten me.

I can't remember the figures I saw, but it was something like $1 trillion for the war and then another $500b in increased energy costs due to inflated oil prices. Of course, they don't take the costs of a deflated currency pursuant to deficit spending into account...

Here is everything you'd like to know about the war costs but it doesnt include the costs of hospitalization and medicines the government has to shell out to the wounded. and the life insurance it has to pay out to the soldiers families when they are killed.
