I was looking at the clubs for my college. I found this to be of interest:

Los Angeles Harbor College
Students for Individual Liberty
Contact: Prof. Bruce Dovner
[email protected]

It is a libertarian club and I was surprised to see a professor run it. So I gooogled him and found out he gave $203 to Ron Paul and is a Jewish libertarian.

So, I am pretty sure I'ma email this guy and join this club. Maybe I can get him to rename it Young Americans for Liberty (in association with Campaign for Liberty) and become President.

MWHAHAHA. Also I might join the tv production class. I THINK I LOVE COLLEGE IF ALL GOES WELL! :D

any college experiences with you guys? clubs or teachers who like Paul or libertarianism?

My Bioethics professor is a RP guy... and more students then I could have hoped for are RP lovers. I walked into my first Biology class this year last week and the minute I walked in this girl I was always talking about RP to was "crap Nikki, I am so disappointed with these elections!" Haha. So I told her to look at Bob Barr.

Of course, we also have the Obamacons here. My socialist English professor... God, I really dislike that woman. She would always argue with me on EVERYTHING just for the sake of pissing me off.

But yeah, tons of RP teachers here, which makes me happy. I think 3 of my teachers are...

Damn, the prof of my class is the biggest statist I've ever seen :(

Let's start a list of professors who support Ron Paul or are libertarian/limited-government conservative leaning and their colleges

Walter Williams of George Mason University
Bruce Dovner of Los Angeles Harbor College

I wish there was an entire libertarian school :D

like in NH or something

my econ teacher supports bailouts and capntrade
that's all i know so far
she says government intervention is necessary when the market fails, and used those as examples

disappointing, any econ teacher should know that the market is far more powerful than the state, markets don't fail they evolve. Ive never broached the subject of RP with my teachers, im a pol sci major so the teachers are pretty close to the vest with their personal political views and always try to argue the other side, though some professors are a little more open about at least hating George W.

mine said people who want lower taxes arent dumb because we need government

he also made up a word and said "it's not communism".... but it really was and he was just using it so he could support his statist ideas lol

She asked if anyone knew what the federal reserve was
nobody knew. i didn't raise my hand because i might have said "the root of all our economic troubles"

i should have said that

Hmm i don't think i am that lucky, but i have joined the Libertarian Club on campus.
we only have college dems and college reps

haha i am quiet in my classes about Ron Paul because i know that i will just get shit about it. I feel bad though, really bad when i think i should have said something but didn't, i feel like i didn't do my 'duty'. Plus like you im scared i might say a 'wise-guy' remark haha.

You should make a libertarian Club btw. I even joined the U.N. Club. They don't know i am a Ron Paul 'crazy'. I hate the U.N. but it will be good experience and i want to know more about my enemy.

I was thinking about joining the Republican Club but i don't think i wil lbe welcomed, even though my views are basically the fundamental philosophies of the Republican party, but i won't be able to help McCain obviously hes not a true conservative, but i have a feeling they are 'die-hard' willing to go down with the ship.

BTW i am a senior in college and am writing a senior thesis as well as a few other long form papers and my goal is to get published in a journal in the next year or so, I think this should be a legitimate goal for all college students in this movement. In my focus foreign relations theory its pretty obvious when reading journals that the ideas in the articles are not only alive and well in the political mainstream but that its almost where you have to start, especially economics majors should really consider sending out all of their papers on free markets and the gold standard to try to get them published. The worst thing that can happen is that you get a rejection letter in the mail, professors get them all the time and its not a huge deal. At the end of the day this is how advisers get hired.

my first college essay had a whole paragraph about ron paul.
topic was how would internet restrictions effect the free flow of information of press?
and i was like badaboom ron paul wouldnt be in the media anywhere.

I have to write a speech about how somebody inspired me and i would not be the same without. I was going to write about Dr. paul but this is my first speech, not sure if i should or not.

i couldn't write about anyone else. no one has inspired me like he has, so, id be lying if i wrote about anyone else.

Do it! make it really passionate

I can see how it might go

"The person who most affected me is Ron Paul"

Student: "heh"

but once you get into the issues, you can possibly convert a class and maybe a teacher

That is my problem too. The students in my class suck up to the professor, so if I say something I'll get ganged up on by all the students and they just won't listen. I just bite my tongue in class.
