Ok, folks. I want to run the Mosaic Ad as an insert in the State Journal, which is the #1 paper read by business leaders in WV. The paper has 10,000 subscribers and an effective readership of about 48,000.

53% of its subscribers have an annual income of greater than $100,000. By comparison, the median household income in this state is $31,504. In other words, these are the movers and shakers in WV, including the GOP establishment.

This will help us reach the audience we need to influence as we move into the delegate selection process for the WV State GOP Convention, which will declare its nominee before any other state on Super Tuesday.

I'd like to run the insert in their October 19th edition, which will focus on personal finance. The deadline for submission will be October 12.

I cannot do this alone. The cost for circulating the insert statewide is $1,000 plus the cost of printing.

At this point I can contribute $200 and do the legwork necessary to get the thing in print. Is anyone else out there willing to help?

I'd like to help, but please give us more specifics on the mosaic ad.

1. Is it gonna be double sided?
2. What is on EACH side?
3. When is the deadline?

I would help out if I knew what you will put. As business is what you are targeting, I think this is good. But I'd like to put something about "donate" on there.

Do you see the front/back of the insert/flyer I put in the Materials forum?

anyways, count me in for $100 if its all cool and looking nice.

Thanks. :)

The deadline for submission is October 12.

The insert will be double-sided, with the front side the standard mosaic ad you've posted in the materials forum. For the back, I want to use a variation on the back side you've posted, with the text targeted toward business/financial interests and the free market.

There will definitely be an exhortation to donate.

I'll work up a sample.

Like I said, I lived in West Virginia for 2 years. I can also testify to the fact that this is a big publication in WVa. Every time I flipped on the TV on Sunday morning, West Virginia Media was airing some political show by the State Journal's parent company. It featured the dude that owns WVa Media I think.

A good idea. Count me in for at least $50.

Bray Cary. Yeah, these guys own radio stations, television stations, the paper...

He's also a big executive with NASCAR.

A good idea. Count me in for at least $50.

Thanks. :)

At this point, I'm just gauging interest. I don't want people to start giving me money just yet, and then have it turn out that there's not enough to run the ad.

I'll put up a paypal address as soon as it looks like there's enough interest in lending a hand. :)

*Bump*

So far we've got pledges of $450, including mine.

Anybody else interested in helping?

Spirit. I say move forward as if its gonna happen. Who is gonna buy a car without seeing it, you know what I mean?

Get the flyer together and present it -- this way, we know what we are contributing to.

I'm working on it.

Everyone has already seen the general design for the front of the flyer:

I'm reworking the back right now.

Here's what I've got for the basic layout of the back so far.

In the white space on the left, I'm thinking of giving the standard "He has never..." kind of list, with perhaps a portrait. In the blue space on the right, I'd like to have a quote and some info about how his agenda will help entrepreneurs succeed.

What do you think? OK so far?

Anyone have a good quote from the man himself about how the Freedom Message might help the entrepreneurially-minded realize their full potential? :)

I haven't been able to find the exact wording of the quote, but my favorite goes something like "we need a strong president -- strong enough to resist the temptation to take power he shouldn't have."

i like the back of the flyer so far

Oh cool! I am looking for something similar to put in back that targets college students. Will the flyer be in word or something editable?

How many are you printing and what is the cost? (I want to do the same thing in a college paper of about 6000 publications).

I pledge at least 25 bucks (depending on when you take donations I may be able to cough up $50).

Thanks, everyone. :)

I'm printing 10,000. I started shopping it out to a few places around here yesterday. Should have a good price estimate in a day or two.

I'll make it available as a Photoshop .psd for people to alter and use.

Here it is:

Depending on the price quotes I get from the printers, we may want to forego the double-sided idea and just use this as a single-sided 10"x13.5" insert.

Any questions, comments, complaints, or constructive criticism?
