As some might know, I've been busy writing my thesis on the Kosovo War. While going through old documentaries, I found something which is really rarely being told, so I couldn't resist making a little clip about it (just like I once did with the 'inevitable collapse of the dollar' which was later featured on sites like boingboing).
According to many western media reporters, Milosevic was responsible for the war crimes in Bosnia. However, while the Yugoslav Tribunal (ICTY) indicted Karadzic and Mladic in 1995 for war crimes, they never indicted Milosevic. However, in november 2001 -after Milosevic was arrested- the ICTY (following popular opinion) decided to indict Milosevic for war crimes in Bosnia.
Nowadays, it has almost become common to assume Milosevic was indeed responsible for crimes in Bosnia, especially the genocides in 1995. During the ICTY-trial of Milosevic, however the Amicae Curiae of the ICTY judged Milosevic to be innocent to these charges. The Dutch-parliamentary-researchers which investiged Srebrenica also came to the conclusion in a 7000-pages-counting report that Milosevic did not know and had no control anymore of what was happening in Bosnia by 1995. (source) According to intelligence sources, Milosevic was upset and furious. This was later confirmed by key witnesses in the ICTY-trial.
Bottom-line: contrary to popular belief and although Milosevic, Karadzic and Mladic were all Serbs, they weren't at the same line at all. In this video, I highlight the break-up between Milosevic and the Bosnian Serbs in May 1993.

Tell me what you think.
Disclaimer: I'm not saying Milosevic never had any role; because he did have a big role in arming the Bosnian Serbs at the start of the conflict (before 1993), similarly to Tudjman sending his army to the Bosnian Croats.
