Michael Scheuer was the main CIA guy responsible for tracking bin Laden until 2004. He offered Clinton several oppurtunities to kill bin Laden, none of which were seized. He has written 3 books and has endorsed Ron Paul before, but i think this article merits discussion:

funny how Ron was called "Neville Chamberlain on Defense" even after the CIA's chief terrorist-hunter endorsed his views

I just finished Imperial Hubris and am looking forward to starting Marching Towards Hell.

I agree with most of Scheuer's criticisms of interventionism, but not his recommendations of what a new foreign policy should look like.

I read Imperial Hubris back in.. 2004 I think, very informative view on Al Qaeda. Completely changed the way I saw the war on "terror". I bet Marching Towards Hell is a good read as well. Thanks for posting the article.

how do u disagree? From what i can gather, he thinks we should practice nonintervention except when our actual security is threatened. But when we do fight, we have to fight a lot more brutally than we currently do.

As a result of this, he was branded an anti-semite and a "far-right isolationist" like Dr. Paul
