I think I have figured out the cause and meaning of the highly excitable Wayne Root's mysterious shouting of the word "Bang!" during his concession speech at the Libertarian convention last weekend.
At some point in one of his speeches Root mentioned that the genocidal racist Winston Churchill was one of his heroes. This was in the back of my mind when I was reading an article about Churchill by Ralph Raico and I came across this:
Hence, Root's anomalous shouting of "bang" may be due to some form of shell-shock (euphemistically called post-traumatic-stress-disorder nowadays) suffered while playing with toy soldiers as a child.
Its unlikely, but if Barr and Wayne “The Surge is Working” Root were to have genuine road to Damascus epiphanies, then something even more interesting than the Ron Paul Revolution could happen.
Here is the minimum that I would accept as evidence of genuine repentance for their past crimes:
1. From now until the election, Barr should tour dozens, if not hundreds, of prisons throughout the American Gulag and apologize to the victims of the crimes that he’s committed as prosecutor, legislator, and cia/fbi agent.
He should ask for forgiveness from his victims and offer to compensate his victims for damages. This would prove that he understands the conservative/libertarian principle of being held responsible for one’s actions. He should bill this prison barnstorming campaign as the 2008 Barr/Root Repentance and Restitution Presidential Tour.
2. Before touring Iraq with Barr, and repenting and offering to transfer all of his scamdicapper profits to his war victims, Root should first apologize for un-contemptuously speaking the name of Winston Churchill at a Libertarian convention.
