because it would mean there would be two rich white guys on the ticket. That would be hard to defend against attacks by not so rich Obama and significantly poorer Joe Biden. So who will the VP be? I sure hope not Huckabee... This boosts Ridge's chances because he's not so rich, but it would mean the VP candidates would both be very similar. They would both be not so rich, well experienced, pro-abortion Catholic candidates. Both are quite popular in Pennsylvania because Ridge was former governor, and Delaware is like the eastern part of Pennsylvania.

If McCain really believes all the crap he spews he'll pic Giuliani..

They're all loaded, compared to the average American worker. Pennsylvania is up in the air, frankly, and what you neglect to mention is how Romney opens up Michigan for the Republicans this year which is a serious change in the electoral college count.

If he's smart he'll pick Romney, the voters expect the Republicans to run two white men and the worst thing they could do is bend over backwards to try and counteract charges of racism, like Buchanan did in 2000.

Good god, I hope it's not Ridge--I couldn't take all the pro-McCain stuff that would go on. (Ridge is from here.)

Smart money is on Romney. Smart strategy is on Lieberman. Smart racism/sexism strategy is on Sarah Palin or any R female governor.

"Big F-U To Everyone" startegy would be Connddaalleezzaa Rice. Can we get a poll started so i can vote for Condie?

Best choices (from his point of view) - in no particular order -
Rice
Colin Powell
Gov Crist (FL)
Huckabee
Tom Tancredo

He wants to pick Lieberman but his advisers and a bunch of Republicans are telling him not to because it will piss off the remaining conservatives that don't already hate him. But he thinks it would help get people in the middle. I give it about a 50/50 chance. And if you think this is crazy Lieberman is getting a speaking role at the GOP convention when Ron Paul is not invited.

^Well the GOP Convention is possibly that last Neo-Conservative convention, besides Sarah Palin, Bobby Jindal and Tim Pawlenty... Who isn't a neo-con? And just because you support the War in Iraq & Afghanistan doesn't make you an automatic neo-con. So they're trying to showcase what they have left. Smart money is on Mitt Romney, because he can put Michigan, Nevada, Colorado & New Mexico into play. Plus, he has the economic credentials, they'll lose badly but shit McCain is going to lose badly no matter which VP he chooses.
