There is a MASSIVE democrat/RINO spending trap that will trigger in the Debt Limit Bill that Massie voted out of committee

Doesn't change anything, Massie still right, as usual
Massie is wrong, not passing it would be worse, ironically thanks to him.

1) The CR freezes spending (a win in the swamp).
2) No earmarks.
3) No giant omnibus.
4) Allows for the president to use impoundment.

Trump can and will impound the bad spending.

There has never been a more opportune time to cut spending. It will likely not happen again.

Massie, as usual, was right. Republicans will pay a price for betraying their constituents and pretending like this is a win. This isn't even a consolation prize.

Eventually we'll cut spending, but it won't be voluntary. High to hyper-inflation will force us to.

The growth of government is slowed with a spending freeze, and it also removed earmarks which allows Trump to impound more funds for the rescission strategy.

I did a search for the text string "impound" in the text of this bill and there were zero hits.

Which part of the bill are you referring to when you say it allows impoundment?

When there's pressure to pass a bill, that's exactly when you need to be pressing your advantage. Caving in such a situation accomplishes nothing

It's the elimination of earmarks as described by Chip Roy and Speaker Johnson.

When spending is not earmarked by Congress, they defer authority to the executive agencies what programs to spend the money on, that opens the door for the executive to say, we're not going to spend the money, i.e. impoundment.

This is NOT "TrumpForums.com." This is NOT "GaetzForums.com." This is Ron/RandPaulForums.com. And Rand stands with Thomas Massie on this.

Trump can go pound sand.

I like Gaetz, but he has been proven wrong or misguided many times. He vouched for Johnson as Speaker, which was a huge mistake.

And the video doesn't even refer to Massie at all. The title is deceptive.

That video is nothing more than a continuation of Gaetz's personal vendetta against McCarthy. He seems to be referring to an automatic across the board cut that would result from another long term CR.

And Gaetz's problem with that is that it would cut military spending! Boo hoo, we can't cut the MIC!

Fail.

I think we'll just dry up and blow away like the USSR did.
The Soviet Union had generations of hatred of their own country. People escaped communism into countries like the United States. I don't see very many parallels between the Soviet empire and the United States. They haven't built a wall to keep us in yet atleast.

SO now that the House can't be the reason a CR doesn't pass

you think Trump will still support a contender against Massie? I would think so.

To be frank, in better times, a real statesman president would not dare to interject himself into Congressional matters
which are clearly outlined in the Constitution. It is not under his purview or any of his damned business.

It could go eiter way but one certainty is that from based on cuts in past two mts , pro rated for an entire prsidency it isnt going to save federal reserve notes or current economic system . It still cant go mor tan a decade or two before it collapses

The debt-limit is a made-up thing, like "government shutdowns" or "this is my last cigarette, never again" (famous last words).

I don't care why the R Establishment thinks Massie is wrong, Massie is right. The debt-ceiling has to be raised no matter what, and it will be passed with or without Massie. The real lesson here is that the R Establishment once again intends to pull a Lucy football snatch... We The People are all lined up like Charlie Brown to take down the Deep State like never before, we have a populist wrecking-ball in POTUS and no serious opposition in either Congress or SCOTUS for most agenda items, but this golden opportunity is going to be accidentally-on-purpose flubbed once again, if the R Establishment gets their way, because the fact is that the Swamp creatures, both R and D, have already configured things exactly the way they want them. Massie's vote is calling attention to the blatant lies of the R Establishment Swamp-creatures who are once again pulling this same stunt they pull every time... pretend to support the populist candidate up until the last moment, then kill the populist agenda in procedural red-tape and Swampy political back-stabbing.
