considering Barr's actions on 10 Sept 08, what is the LP-WV going to do?

last i knew the WV-LP was not behind the national nominee, Barr, and was not going to put any time, energy, or money into a petition drive, yet SOMEONE was collecting signatures for his WV ballot access - who were they?

is there an official LP-WV and an unofficial LP-WV? and who is who?

and note, the LP-WV site has not been updated in awhile.

We supported Bob Barr as our party's candidate. Barr had his own petitioners in WV from his campaign, and did not ask for support from the state party.

Unfortunately, after failing to achieve ballot access by petition, Barr's campaign never registered as a certified write-in candidate. Personally, I had nothing to do with the fiasco.

Currently, we're planning ballot access drives in 2010 for several good solid candidates.

Beyond that, personally, I'm hoping to see a Lib/GOP/Democratic fusion ticket of four candidates for the four statehouse seats in Morgantown. Our own Kevin Patrick will be running as a Republican, as will Chris Walters, both of whom I know personally. I also have a friend who is likely to be running as a Libertarian. For the final seat, I will be supporting Barbara Evans-Fleischauer based on her support of loosening ballot access restrictions. This will be an awesome group of great individuals who will truly serve the citizens of Morgantown in the statehouse!
