The 10 term incumbent, Jim McCrery (R) has decided not to seek re-election.

The folk who are expected to run for the spot are some folk who lost the governors race and the past Mayor of the largest city. This seems like a fairly wide open district. I live here and have considered running for the post to help create a Ron Paul voting block in congress.

However, I don't have much cash am not known politically and have to work 4 days a week. I could probably knock on most doors in the district but not all of them if I started soon.

Any thoughts/suggestions/ideas?

I would say to go for it. If there are 500 or more dedicated Ron Paul supporters in your district, you can win. Plus, if RP actually gets the nomination (which I think is a very large possibility) you can sail your way through if you can get his endorsement.
