Los Angeles Fire 2025

As LA burns, the mayor is off in Africa attending the Ghanan presidential inauguration.

And the queeer female fire chief can't get water on some of the fires because the hydrants are dry.

But never you mind about that, there are more coloreds and queeers to mill about smartly in turnout gear as your multi million dollar Malibu home burns down.

8:35 AM — The Pacific Palisades disaster has renewed attention on the identity politics of Kristin Crowley, the first woman (and the first ***** woman) to serve as LAFD Fire Chief. Crowley was sworn in to her post in March of 2022, and she and Mayor Eric Garcetti established a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Bureau in January 2023.

8:30 AM — Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is currently absent from her city, nation, and continent. Via Breitbart News:

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass spent Tuesday in Africa as part of a taxpayer-funded delegation attending the inauguration of John Dramani Mahama as Ghana’s president. The Democrat was there as her city battled wildfires and thousands of residents fled for their lives.

8:23 AM — Businessman and former L.A. mayoral candidate Rick Caruso says the Pacific Palisades area has no water in the hydrants at the moment, accusing the local government of mismanaging resources like a “third-world country.”

Which could be a good thing, if the next person in line to lead is competent. The question is, how far down does the rot go? Likely the entire Mayor's office.

About the FAIR plan: in many areas of California, insurers will not sell fire insurance. There is no private market. Thus more and more people have "the FAIR plan". For a pretty much standard 3 bedroom/2 bath house, not in an exclusive neighborhood, the cost of this coverage is between $4k-$7k per year. There aren't many standard houses like that in the Pacific Palisades area, so the cost would probably be significantly higher.

Pure coincidence, but many of the people whose homes burned will have to sell their property and move somewhere else because they had no insurance and no ability to rebuild.

Wonder what kind of discount someone will get buying up that valuable real estate? Cui bono?

And another pure coincidence is that one of the wealthiest families in So Cal is Gavin Newsom's biggest backer and donor since he first got into politics...

The subject of some relatively recent dam demolition in California is being brought up today in relation to this fire. As usual, the real details are not being discussed. From a thread on the subject:

Agree. Feds shouldn't have anything to do with it. I’d guess the fact that the river is “interstate” is one excuse for the Feds to get involved.

As far as the trade-offs in California go, it’s crony corporatism meets “green” lunacy. These old dams and water from them usually have ancient contracts on that electricity and water at very low prices. The utilities, their crony politicians and new “green” energy interests do not want old, cheap energy. They are eliminating competition, and having the demolition and clean up done on taxpayer dollars.

The money aspect then aligns with the squawking insane green cultists, who of course want to demolish dams, because they were man made just like everything else that makes it possible for these feeble minded fools to exist.

Leftism has taught them to accept and even enjoy cognitive dissonance and contradiction. They can simultaneously believe that electricity is the answer to their imaginary problems, and also push to eliminate almost all sources of electricity. Then they complain about black outs. Same with water. Eliminate dams, let all fresh water flow into the ocean, continually increase water usage via population growth, and then complain when there are droughts and the price of water goes up astronomically, and they are told not to water their lawns.
