I hadn't heard about this before, so it might be news to others, as well.
Apparently, the "controversial twiddler" is an algorithm or subroutine through which YouTube / Google filters search terms so that the results for "controversial" subjects can be "twiddled" (modified, suppressed, etc.) in order to better suit the officially approved narratives.
None of this should be the least bit surprising, of course - but it's interesting to see exactly what "triggers" the gatekeepers.
