If you're in the area of Columbia, SC on Monday come out in full force and show your unwaivered oppostition to Real ID!

Message from Charleston Meetup

Governor Sanford said this in his State of the State address back in January,
We're defending privacy rights by becoming the fifth state in the country to say no to the heavy-handed Real ID legislation from the federal government, and I thank each one of you who voiced your opinion in that important debate tied to the larger principle of limiting federal power.

We don't know what the Governor will say in his press conference on Monday, but we're hoping he'll stand firm!

We ARE gathering at the State House on Monday at 9:30am in front of the Sumter St. entrance (the main entrance). Bring friends, make signs or bring flags. EVERYONE is needed to show our support of the No Real ID Bill the Governor signed last year.

If the Governor announces he will not file for an extension, then, we're supporting the Governor. The press conference is inside the building. I don't think we can enter with our signs. I don't know whether we can enter at all. HOWEVER, WE CAN be a presence outside for the media to see.

I'll be traveling from Spartanburg. Leaving at 7:30am. I still have room for 3 more in my car. Anyone with a large vehicle, if you want to designate a meeting place where you can pick up folks who can't drive, please let me know so we can coordinate.

We have to pull this together, FAST! It's all about being Minutemen. Join us!!
